The diagnosis was bipolar type 2 and post traumatic stress disorder. At least she said that we would start with the bipolar as a "rule-out" and prescribed zoloft and lamicital. I was so shocked, I really don't know what to do about it. I will not take anything until I have thoroughly researched the drugs and the disorders. I don't feel like it is warranted, maybe a second opinion?

did she/he explain the difference between type one and type 2 to help you situate that in your mind?

you might not need a second opinion, you can go to your ESP's page, click on the health icon and self diagnose, they'll probably list different conditions, once you pick the one you want to look up, I think somewhere, among the new options you'd have is "diagnosis", you'd probably have a questionnaire that you would have to answer. You could go to other sites too, do the same thing, compare results with what your Dr. said and go from there. I am fond of this site if you want to consider it as one of the sites that can help you sort through, I posted it b4: WebMD - Better information. Better health. it literally saved my rear end couple of times, I simply owe them so much and I love them, it's maintained/managed by a group of MDs, I just heard the advertisement on tv and took a note once, this is what the Holy Spirit does for me, that is why I really would like you to get involved with Christ and get to know Him, many times, just at the right time, I needed help and things sort of dropped right out of the skies LOL I am not joking. if I tell you about the spooky (good) stuff I come across at times, you'd think I am making all of it up. Also, how do you personally feel about the Dr. you visited with? I personally trust my intuition.
