Good Morning! This week has flown by soooo fast. Last night I went to another cooking class and tried some pretty good food I’d never tried before. The class is called the 10 Day Daniel Resolve and they base their plan on the Book of Daniel in the Bible. It sounds pretty good, but I don’t think I will be following all of their plan. They are vegans (I like my meat and dairy!) and they say to only eat 2 times a day, or 3 at the most and space the meals 5 hours apart at least. This doesn’t fit in with what I’m learning through Bill. So, I’ll go and learn how to cook good vegan food that I can eat, but I’ll still plan on eating my 5 small meals throughout the day that will include whey protein, etc.
Thia- I got that quote from Bill on my phone the other day and it couldn’t have come at a better time. Love it!
Joyce- Sorry to hear you couldn’t give blood. I’ve been told I can’t give blood because I lived in Europe during the 80’s. I don’t really understand why that keeps me from giving. They are pretty particular though, which is good. Get your iron up and then you can go give! I think it is great when people who are able to go and do it.
Kevin-Enjoy your day with your daughter! My oldest daughter loves soccer.
Tom-Glad you are recognizing your unique opportunity. Now go make the most of it! (A paid vacation to Hawaii would be pretty awesome, huh?)
Lisa-Enjoy your relaxing weekend!
Joey-Keep on fighting! You are so close to being done.
Juni-Glad to hear you got your leg and back pain straightened out. Sounds like you are back on track!
Mary-Good luck with your test today!
Layne-Yay! It’s not silly to celebrate the good in your life. You know you are doing something good and that is something to celebrate about. Just don’t beat yourself up over the small slip ups. They happen. What matters is that we pick ourselves up and go again.
Derrick- Heading over to your uncle next. Have a great day!

Everyone else- have a terrific day!

16 Wonderful Years !!!!!

Today, my wife and I celebrate our 16 year anniversary! I love you Julia!

Well...I finally did it! I crossed the 50 lb mark! I weighed in this morning and lost 3 lbs. My current weight is 248.0 lbs. My total weight loss to date is 50.8 lbs !!!

Now it's time to KILL IT in the 8 Week Super Summer Challenge...!

I just love your attitude Tom !!!

My meals today are:
M1 - RightLight Shake, 3/4 cup LIFE cereal
M2 - Myoplex Lite Shake
M3 - EFL All American Goulash
M4 - Myoplex Lite Shake
M5 - Free meal (P.F. Chang's for anniversary)

Thia - I dream of being there for my wife and kids 'till I'm very, very old.

Joyce - I love big dreamers and you're one of them! Give it everything you got in this 8 week challenge and AMAZE yourself !!

Kevin - Love how you are preparing for the road trip. Awesome!

Joey - I love the Rocky movies. Your analogy got me thinking about Rocky I. All he wanted was to go the distance - 15 rounds with Apollo. No one had ever went the distance with Apollo. Well, not many people can go the distance and complete all 18 weeks (including steps). You are going to go the distance my friend!

Mary - You BRING IT each and everyday!

Layne - It's been so exciting watching your transformation journey. You've faced job challenges and physical challenges and you keep moving forward. You're a fighter!

Derrick - Gave your Uncle a shout. Also, keep those videos coming brother...cool stuff.

Good Morning Everyone

Bill said on the show this Monday something to the effect that we will all change through inspiration or desperation. This resonated with me when he said it and today it took on a new meaning. I just got off the phone with my father who had just been informed by his doctor that he has an enlarged aortic valve and a partial blockage in some ventricle. In the words of his doctor, they have caught it when they want to catch it(early I'm assuming) but it just goes to show how serious this is. My father isn't significantly overweight either, he runs about 20-25lbs over where he should be but his food choices aren't always sound. I know that he is going to be OK but it was a smack of reality that I don't want desperation to be my reason to change.

Hey Team! Hopefully you all have something fun planned for the weekend and the sun is shining away where ever you may be! I'll be coming around the mountain to visit you all today!

As for me: Im in the process of moving this weekend, after I get that done, Im stoked and ready to hit it hard on that 8 week super summer WOOT WOOT....LETS DO THIS TEAM. I have my trusty wireless stick to keep up with you all, nothing could keep me away (lol)....I will sneak away to the coffee shop and let the big boys (my sons) do the heavy lifting right! I packed, my part is done! Hopefully they wont notice where did she go! --- LOL

Tom - you are the epitome of today's quote!
What a great attitude, its not what happens to us in life, its how we respond, react and what we do with what happens, you are a superstar, rock on!

Joey way to go at those rounds! You can do this, you are aware and awareness is key for us to make those changes, like Bill's quote says its not always perfect its in learning how to react, respond and get back up when we get knocked down. This is life! Fantastic share - you always share insightfulness with such eloquence - I love reading your shares....very bright.

June! Fantastic, thats really what it is about...its not about the other person letting go its about letting go within ourselves and moving on regardless of what others do....we cant control other peoples, thoughts, behaviors, actions and choices...we can only make our own choices....good for you...phenomenal work.

I have never been more motivated!! Everyone have an amazing weekend. I will be back on-line Monday for Day 1 of my summer challenge!!

Quick check in here... All is good with some revisions to the food/exercise plan for today. Wonderful to hear Layne, Joel and Kellie on the conf call today! Working on a plan for the 8 week challenge. Planing will be uber important with the hubby joining me. We got him official and approved into the gym at work today so we will be able to do our weight lifting there with all the machines and free weights. This weekend I will tweak a workout so we can do a WBWO in about 30 minutes.

OK, its back to work for me...

STRENGTH, HAPPINESS and GRATITUDE to everyone! Terra

Friday afternoon

Hi, Everyone! I'm scared to death, but also looking forward to the summer challenge - and it WILL be. Overlapping 2.5 weeks with the 18-weeker is a little unnerving, but, it'll happen! Help for that is that I'm on summer break between spring semester and summer school. Shout outs to all of you for the transforming work you are accomplishing!

Thia: Wow! Starting off the summer challenge in the midst of moving! Brava to you, Woman! Yes, get those boys into line for the heavy lifting! Thanks so much for cheering me on.

Kevin: How lovely to think of your trip and bonding opp with your daughter. Where is Barrie, by the way? 6 hrs. from Ottawa, anyway. Thanks for the Beatles - a great choice for Monday!

Tom: Spot-on funny, candid, and always, always inspirational. From the Zumba video to life's surprises and a lot in between. Hey, I can envy you some. I'm on my way out of 62, still working, with no end in sight due to some late life student loans to pay back - sheesh! Talk about wrongheaded. I should chat with you about the potential for bankruptcy - mine, I mean. Anyway, you are transforming your way into a healthy, productive retirement and should be congratuated. Hear, hear! On to Macon!

Lisa: Been meaning to ask: whereabouts are you in Oz? I was lucky enough to spend about 3 months there many years ago and it was terrific. I think we're at about the same place in the 18 weeks. All the best to us both in achieving our goals!

Joey: yes, a great metaphor, indeed. You will absolutely go all the rounds! You have Joey One and all of us behind you. That's me with the sweat towel.

June: Congrats on a milestone! being at peace with you and with not controlling your husband's response.

Mary: How'd the test go! Congrats that it's behind you! You Go Girl!

Layne: Please excuse me for talking about my pitiful little low iron - I should be slapped. You are terrific in finding ways to work around your significant health issues. You are an inspiration to me, truly.

Derrick & U.Don: Your body armor - don't leave home without it! Another great metaphor. You are absolutely doing this, pal. Acknowledge it! Thanks for reminding us to acknowledge all our vets, both those fallen and among us.

Faithrace: Thanks for the cast iron reminder! Somehow that skillet got down to the bottom of the pan closet and I forgot about it - you can tell which junky room I've started with! Good luck with yours.

Pam: I was deferred too, for 7 years, because I lived in England for 4 months in '03. Mad cow. I don't know what the issue is on the Continent. Then the Red Cross realized that the danger period was narrower, so I contested it and won. Good luck with your situation. I think small meals frequently is a much healthier plan. The other sounds monastic in origin.

Jonathan: Happy, happy Anniversary, Jonathan & spouse! Thanks for your encouragement throughout this process.

Matt: Funny how it takes desperation or inspiration to move most of us off square one. Maybe not Transformers, though. I am thinking of you and holding your dad in my heart.

Kgirl: Congrats on the wedding date! Looking forward to seeing you online next week.

Terra: Hurrah for success obtaining a gym pass for hubby so you can work out together!

Hi, Kym: welcome back!

Meanwhile, on track with meal plan overall today. Missed one meal early; I'm always in danger of that. Going to do cardio now. Happy Friday, Everyone!

Hey everyone. Happy Friday before a holiday weekend in the US!

Happy Anniversary Jonathan and happy exceeding 50 pound weight loss!! Awesome!

Ok, so my emails are down from 830 to 560 . . . still a long way to go but headed in the right direction.

Nutrition on target today. Still need to go to gym tonight for my 40 minutes of HIIT!! I'm going to push myself hard and sweat tons!

This morning I went to end of school parties for both of my kids. There was a race where they tied the leg of the child to the leg of the parent and raced. Because I've been working out so hard, I've gotten a lot stronger. I used my right arm to pick up my son when he started to fall and carried him the length of the basketball court. We won! It felt good to smoke all those wimpy mommies! Ok, I guess I'm a little competitive.

Anyway, hope everyone has an awesome weekend! I've got the kids for some Father's Day shopping tomorrow, get in my exercise, some other work, celebrating a friend's 19 years of sobriety tomorrow night and going to a Memorial Day party on Sunday. Busy weekend and so glad it's a long one!

Hugs, Caroline

I did great today. So my acls cert is done. YAYYYY I had to cram and I dont like that. But I know the rhythms and what to do, it is just being able to do it in a mega code ( a fake code they have computers hooked up to so you can see rhythms and changes and intubate and stuff. ) I never intubate a patient, as it is not in our policy to do so it was a new skill and not so easy to do. My arms were sore from arms and back last night lol so that was special. It was kinda cool to do
Its cardio challenge then back and core. I am going to grab a meal and let it settle then hit it. Then I am off till monday night WOOOT WOOOT WOOOT

Carolyn your havcing a winning day, way to go!!

Matt my prayers are going up, call me if you need me.

Jero relax and enjoy the journey to your summit. Yes it is hard at times, but the view is spectacular.

Way to go Jon!! WOOO HOOOOO congrats on 50lbs.

June way to go!! and great out look on it

Well I am off to do a few things then get some healthy grocerys

Lots of love

Mary

Hello to All.

It sounds like everyone had a marvelous week and a great deal was accomplished in a positive way. Each of you are a new person because of what you are doing on T.com with your live. It is always inspiring to read the comments that are posted. I am so grateful for all of you.

I feel like what I am posting here will bring everyone down but, this is where I am right now.

I have not been logging on as much as I should and I apologize for not staying in touch. We are getting ready to go on our first summer trip. It seems like the closer we get the more stressed out I am becoming. When I am holding things inside, I get blisters on my hands, they are popping out all over. I can't put my finger on any one thing that is causing the stress I just know it is there. My mother-in-law has dementia and part or our visit will be with her. I truly hate to see the decline in her health that has happened over the past 3 years. Also, we will be seeing my son and family for a couple of days. On the up side, because of the grand daughters getting into cheerleading this summer, my daughter-in-law has asked for our help in putting them on the right track health wise. Everyone, I could use a very large group prayer that this will happen. One of my reasons for joining T.com was to give me the tools to be able to talk to my family about healthy living.
I will check in when I can, as I will not have access to a computer on most of our trip. Maybe I will be able to figure out how to use my PDA phone.
I am doing the summer challenge and part of that time will be while we are on vacation. I plan to get in all of my workouts and eat health when we go out for dinner. I hope I will have Bill's new 5/25 exercise plan before we leave.
Everyone have a marvelous month of June. TAZ
