May 14th-May 20th

Well, it still feels like Sunday night, but since it' s actually Monday, I get to start the thread.

Bob and Colleen, thanks for the super support. Your thoughts are much appreciated and so helpful. To be honest, I'd forgotten all about 5-25. It's perfect for this busy time and may be more practical when traveling than Supreme 90X (though I'm eager to get back to that). Bob, you are right about 2 1/2 week as an excuse. I did start looking at a farmers market and store with good produce in San Jose for Friday when I get in. Of course, I'll have to not make too many nostalgia trips to Jack in the Box for the onion rings.

Colleen, thanks so much for asking about the fruit, which is referred to as 80-10-10 or sometimes low fat raw vegan. I found this concise summary that outlines it well: 80 10 10 Diet

Okay, I just went downstairs, threw out the vegan chorizo I bought (wasn't that good anyway), and put some mangoes and bananas on the counter. I'm going to read some motivation from a book on this way of eating and call it a night.

Colleen, good for you for telling that little voice to go away! Rowing is such a super workout, and your food looks good, too. Hope the MIL visit doesn't pull you off track. Your getting good momentum.

Bob, smart choice not to go back-to-back on the running too soon. I mostly avoid that, too, although, I may do tomorrow and Tuesday, weather permitting, to catch up a bit. LOL that you are saying you want it NOW and later reminding me there are no quick fixes. Don't we all advise others what we need to hear ourselves? ;-)

That's amazing that you've seen a world. That's one that hasn't made it's way to Arlington, VA. Retention pond? OMG, is it a bird magnet? When we have birding trips, we're often at retention ponds and waste water treatment plants.

Welcome, Pam!

I am going to have an awesome week. I took a small detour to "What's The Point" last week and it's a dark and depressing place. This week I am going to "I Can" and plan to bask in the glow. Tired of my own BS. I've been mostly doing what I should be, but as we all know mostly is not very satisfying. I have increased my stairs as of today to 4 sets which will be 2304 stairs. It was about 90 degrees yesterday so the stair well is about 80 but no excuses. I also found all the info from FitOrbit from last year in some old emails and I am going to check out the daily plans for ideas.

Caryn - the 80 10 10 sounds very challenging. But I know that you are a dedicated person and strong in your commitments when you want to be. (I hope that doesn't come off sounding mean - we're all committed when we chose to be.) Traveling will be challenging for sure, but California will have loads of fruit options. Not so sure about Utah. I saw your post last week about reminders. I have a pop up reminder every hour to hit the stairs. I think I need to add drink water as well. Do your best in the 2 1/2 weeks and get straight back to it when you get home.

Bob - how is your head this week? My is so full of crap that it aches. I am getting out of my head this week and listening to my heart or my body or anything or anyone else. Do we have 6 weeks or 5? I swear that I am ready for some tough love from you and if I don't get my ass in gear I will email you every day so you can call BS on me if you need to, or encourage me to do better. However I really know that it's up to me so the plan is to prove it this week. Are you with me?

Happy Happy Just-Because Day!!!

I was posseesed by a food gorging demon this Mother's Day! Heaven help me. I basically got rid of all my free days for the next few weeks. My wife, of all people, has put me to tasks when I have made efforts to work out the past three days. I need to make stronger efforts to work out first thing in the morning, but I am gettting to bed so late that I keep sleeping in a bit longer.

I have continued this dance of lose 5-8 pounds, gain 5-8 pounds each week. I obviously need to change what I am doing because changing nothing changes nothing. It isn't bothering me much except that I am getting worried now about being ready for the 10 Mile Run. I have reworked my plan once again for the next 10 weeks in preparation for my 10 Mile Extreme Run.

Caryn ~ Jack-in-the-Box? LOL. Pretend a big boxing glove pops out of that Jack-in-the-Box and bops you in the kisser when you order those onion rings. Or try visualization of animal excrements covering those onion rings before you order.

Do control what you can. Just do not get down on yourself if you stray. For goodness sake, remember to have fun and remember the old progress not perfection motto.

......and yes, the retention pond which is 20 feet away from a year round pond (which is fenced in) is definitely a bird magnet. We have shot and eaten.....lol, only kidding. We have seen egresses, hawks, other types of birds I am not familiar with and loads of geese and geese droppings. Every year we have 3 to 5 sets of geese with their hatchlings. They are very cute to watch.

Colleen ~ I LOVE THE ATTITUDE. "I AM GOING TO HAVE AN AWESOME WEEK." It reminds me to get back to positive affirmations (which is basically a form of visualization). Again, do not worry too much of the detours. They do not help with where you are going. Eyes forward, ya know.

We have 6 weeks with the Summer Crawl....eerrr, I mean Sprint (or was that Push?). You're on! You just signed up for the BobO Spring Shove to Summer Drive. I will call out any BS in private e-mail though, lol. It helps with the new, kinder image I am trying to portray. Crap, I just scared myself. Maybe it is best to post in the public forum. It helps to keep me in check, lol.

It's funny (sad) how all my boxers are again thongs. SOOOooo, not a pretty picture. It's soon bikini season!!!

Eyes forward!!!

The most bizarre thing happened today - I gave food away. Someone stopped by with cookies and some bars which happened to be vegan. Carrot cake and something chocolate. I took the bars straight to the resident vegan since she rarely gets any of the goodies and passed the cookies out to others. Normally I would have kept the majority (food hoarder) but didn't want them staring me in the face all day.

Accomplished my 2304 stairs yesterday and am behind for today due to interruptions. I still have time and will do my best to get them done. I want to have done over 10,000 by the end of the day Friday.

Yesterdays meals
1c Kashi + 1/2c milk
apple
Tuscan Tomato & Bean Soup + 3/4 oz cheese
orange
celery stalk with peanut butter
Mushroom, bean and barley soup + olive bread (I know Bob, but the loaf was a gift from the neighbor and I have seriously reduced my bread intake)
banana

Now I'm off to get another 384 stairs done!

Hello All!
My name is Becky
I'm glad to be a part of this group.
Bob O. has been a strong support on T.com and I need it now. I got to my goal weight and have slowly let some bad habits creep back and I've gained a little so before I backslide completely I'm going to Keep My Eyes Forward and Chin UP! Thanks for the invite!
I'm going on a run this morning and I will write out my food and clean out the fridge. Today is the day! Now is my time! I need to return to what I know works for me. Positive mindset is a must! I can run. I can eat healthy.
Much transformation love to you all! Becky

"Trust me the results will be there in the long run if you simply take it one step at a time and do the work you need to do to get there." - Bill Phillips Transformation pg.15

Welcome Becky! I am holding down the fort while Bob and Caryn are on a brief hiatus. Bob will be back next week and Caryn the week after. We do have a couple others who stop by from time to time. If you know anyone looking for a group we'd love to increase our team!

It's always so nice to have a new voice and fresh perspective. I have been all over the place since last year but have been getting back to the plan in the last few weeks. Not perfect but definitely progress. I am going to go back to assignment 1 and re-read what I've written so far. I will be doing some editing as things change over time, but it will always be a changing set of goals. The main things I need to focus on are goal setting, planning and attitude. Those are foremost for me. Glad you are getting right back to it before you backslide too far. I've been to Weight Watchers in the past and at one meeting this person reached her goal. Everyone clamored to know how much weight she lost and she said 8 pounds. You could see everyone thinking big deal, but if the rest of us would have stared when we only had 8 pounds to lose we would have been far better off than waiting. So hit it hard and prove that the hard work really does pay off!

Colleen
