Are You Serious??

You know, life has a way of seeing if you are serious.

It is INEVITABLE, folks, that when you embark on something such as Transformation.com, and you're all giddy and gonzo about the future, YOUR future, and you're feeling good and the goose bumps are all over and you feel like the gates of LIFE have finally opened...(which is a good thing, yes indeed)

it is INEVITABLE, gang...

that adversity will come your way. Bill says it often...it's not "if" adversity comes, but "when."

Life has a way of seeing if you are serious. When we make these commitments, and life goes..."OK, let's throw in some hurdles and see if Tommy-boy or Gina-girl can glide over them. We want to see if he/she is really committed." And the hurdles come. And you know what's kind of funny? Most of the time, they are hurdles that a one-year old could jump. Now, I get that real adversity can strike. Things like losing a parent, or a child, or a spouse, or a friend, or losing a job, etc...I get that. But most of the time it's things that amount to no more than silly string.

Things like just having a bad day. Or the guy in front of me cut me off and now I want to slam on the pedal, RAM him and show him my happy finger.(feelings will lie to you folks, careful) Or pleading with God for patience, then getting mad when God gives me opportunities to BE patient.

There are people that I am seeing on this site who passing the "are you serious" test from life. It is incredibly exciting to see. Keep your eyes and heart open, and BE influenced by these champions.

But be warned. The work is not over yet, folks. Adversity is going to come. Let's remember to take most of it for what it really is: silly string.

And while you're at it, BE a little silly today. Why?? Well why the hek NOT?!!

Thank you for this post Kevin......

Adversity and hurdles are his way of increasing our strength and we can choose two paths; never choose the path of least resistance.....

Love it, love it, Kevin! I try very hard to think of adversities or "crises" as LESSONS. When bad things happen, we need to remember that these "obstacles" can be huge opportunities for growth, strengthening our character and determination. So when things hit the fan (as they inevitably will), I try to say, "Okay, Lord, now what can I learn from this? How can this make me stronger?" And you're right--never sweat the small stuff; life is too short and too precious to waste energy on the negative things when there are so many beautiful things to celebrate!

So true! We are here to be tested and the test never stops. As soon as we overcome one obstacle in our life, "God, Life, the universe" or however you refer to it throws you another challenge. Our trials are there to strengthen us. True transformation does not last 18 weeks. It's a life time of practice, overcoming trials, and continual learning. Always focusing on continual and never ending improvement. But when we do pass each little test the reward on the other side of the challenge is oh so sweet and it makes it all worth while

You're the best Kev!

This is completely in sinc with the video tok2me has in this thread:

Rules for Being Human

Life is all about opportunities to jump hurdles and learn lessons and if you don't get over the hurdle and learn the lesson the first time, life has a way of bringing that same hurdle back again...and again until we get over it and learn the lesson.

Thanks, Kevin! This is so timely for me you have NO IDEA!!!!! I'm jumping this hurdle baby...it's just silly string! Can I get a bumper sticker that says that?????

Wonderful Post, Kevin! Yes, we all are going to have obstacles to face. Some are larger than others, but we will all have to face them. . .it's life! If we seek God's help when overcoming these adversities, it makes the road smoother. God lessens your load. In the process, we gain strength for our journey. God empowers us daily. SILLY STRING IS SO MUCH FUN! IT IS HARD TO CLEAN UP, BUT ALONG WITH IT COMES CELEBRATION, FUN, AND LAUGHTER. In the end, the struggle to clean it up is worth it all.

God bless you all,
Kimberly
