Tulsa, OK Transformation Book Study and Support Group
Hey Everyone - just wanted to update you on Tulsa's Transformation book study group. We meet at 1pm every Saturday at the Transformation Fitness Studio in downtown Tulsa (except when there are blizzards, like a couple weeks ago
)Last week we read Step 1 and shared our action steps. It was fun and helpful! There were 9 people there, including 2 new members who had a lot to share. Everyone's invited...only thing that is required is a desire to become a healthier and happier person ![]() Here is a pic from last week (I did not think of taking a pic til half the group was gone lol, but it's still a good one!) 100_1406.jpg From left: Ciel, Sarah (igc_gal), Kersten (with her awesome dream board- you rock!), Janet Flynn, Packy (jazzypacky) This Saturday (from 1-2pm) we will read Step 2 and share our action steps, then discuss some of Bill's exercise tips! Here's the address: 1502 South Boulder Avenue Suite 205B Tulsa, OK 74119 Hope to see you there! Steph ![]() |

Wow--this is so cool! I'm looking for information on book study get togethers in anticipation of maybe doing some for our local Healthy and Happy in San Diego group. (I just posted a new thread to t-central asking for advice.
) Does everyone at your meetings have to be on the same step in the process? Does everyone have to have completed the step? How long are your meetings? How do you run the meetings? (Does everyone take turns speaking? or do you just open it up for anyone to share their thoughts?) I'm excited to learn more about your successful frequent meetings! --Sheri |

That's a great idea to start doing book studies in San Diego! Does everyone at your meetings have to be on the same step in the process? No, some of the members are ahead of the step we are on now. But coming to the book study offers them time to review their stepwork, which can help them stay focused and motivated. Does everyone have to have completed the step? No, but it is recommended. How long are your meetings? 1 hour How do you run the meetings? (Does everyone take turns speaking? or do you just open it up for anyone to share their thoughts?) We open by sharing 3 ways we made progress towards our goals this week and one thing we can do better next week. Then we read the chapter. We take turns reading one paragraph at a time and just go around the circle (no one HAS to read though). Then we share our action steps at the end. Pretty simple...and fun ![]() Does all of that make sense? |

Wow--thank you so much for the information! I admit--I had a hard time trying to figure out how to make a book study work, but the way you do it sounds great! Thanks so much!!!
