Meet & Greet in Maine!
Transformation is comin' to Maine!
![]() Hi All! I need a count of who's planning on (or hoping to) come to our M&G in August, especially if you're interested in camping so I can reserve some sites. Let me know if you need any info on hotels, B&B's, etc as well - we have lots of different lodging options here in Freeport! Today it was 72 and beautifully sunny with a deep blue sky and puffy white clouds. You could see so many of the islands out in the bay and the sail boats...it was a perfect Maine summer day! Hopefully August 15th will be just as gorgeous! The entire Transformation community is invited to Freeport, Maine for a Transformation Meet & Greet On Saturday, August 15th! It will be held at Winslow Park in Freeport. It's a great park with oceanside camping - well, actually I think it's Casco Bay - a playground, a shelter we could rent, grills by the water, a beach that's good at high tide and a boat ramp, kayak/canoe put in. The bay is absolutely gorgeous and is great for boating/kayaking with nearby islands and sheltered water. The beach is very sheltered and muddy much below the high tide mark. It's great camping for families. There's the Freeport stuff to do - nearby hotels (if you don't want to camp), LL Bean, outlet shops, Wolf's Neck Woods State Park (gorgeous "hikes" along the shore with access to tidal pools, and through the woods), bike trails, practicing for Denver on nearby scenic roads, etc. Bradbury Mountain state park is nearby as well (both parks are within a 10 minute drive), has an easy hike to the top of the "mountain" with excellent views of the countryside and allows mountain biking. I think there's a geocache there as well! There's also a YMCA within biking distance.Lobster, island cruises, whale watching, gorgeous beaches (Popham Beach at low tide!), etc. are nearby as well! Range Pond is a great place if you prefer lakes - it's surrounded by hills and the kayaking is peaceful and serene. White water rafting is not too far away. There's surely an outdoor concert or two that weekend...I love living in Maine! We could organize activities or just have people go out on their own, or even just post what people are planning to do if they're up for others joining them for the day. I was thinking of a potluck BBQ around dinner time Saturday, either at the shelter or at one of the grills. It could be a bring your own to grill or collect money to buy food (Wolf's Neck Farm has great all-natural beef from cows just a mile or two away!) - unfortunately I'm not in a position right now to provide much, but I AM great at planning! If people are camping, we could extend the M&G BBQ to the campfire! We could have music, a singalong (I will be here, I will be strong...), stories, marshmellows (free day?), etc. Let me know ASAP if you'd like to camp so I can reserve some sites - there is a group site, but it's not on the water. Not sure about the availability of the waterfront sites...the sooner we reserve the better! If enough people come we could reserve the shelter... Also let me know about the BBQ - grilling preference...etc, even if you don't plan on camping. This will be an amazing T.com event!!

I would love to get a transformation get together organized for Alberta - possibly somewhere central where we could get those from Calgary and Edmonton areas!!!! I realize the summer is busy for everyone, me included, and was thinking maybe second weekend in September. If anyone has any ideas, would like to be involved in setting something up or wants to be on a list to let know once I have it organized, please send a message my way

Transformation Meet-up In Oregon/Portland?
I'd like to find find a Transformation Meet-up in Oregon; Portland area. If you know of one, please let me know.
Likewise, if you don't know of one, and you are interested in meeting, please let me know so I can get one set-up. Instead of meeting at a bar or restaurant, I was thinking of a hike somewhere -- around Hagg Lake, or up to Angel's Rest. Or cave exploration -- I know where some caves are on Mt Adams. Something active. Or, maybe we could meet at the Arboretum and hike to Pittock Mansion... lots of opportunities. Contact me, and let's make this happen! Eric |

Out of Town Visitors for SF Bay Area Get Together July 25, 2009
What a special treat!!! We have a few joining us from out of town and I am so looking forward to meeting them. Discodancer (Spencer) and Discoqueen (Bobbie) and family will be joining us as well as WorkoutGuy (Jim) who will be driving 5 hours to see us! The three of them plan to run a 1/2 marathon in SF on Sunday July 26th and worked us into their trip. How cool is that?!?! The link below will provide detail. If you could please let us know by posting there if you plan to make it. You will see a running list of attendees already started. Our group is growing fast and we determined at our last get together that reservations are needed at this point with the size of our group so it would be helpful for me to have a count of how many plan to be there. http://www.transformation.com/forum/...tml#post219737 Walk: 9:30AM (meet at Chow) Chow: 10:00AM Chow Restaurant in Danville.... 445 Railroad Ave Danville, CA 94526 Looking forward to "in-person" hugs and conversations.

For you t.comers running the 5K in Avon, Indiana this Saturday, I have a running top that's quite bright and will be easy to spot in a crowd. Look for a yellow and aqua blue diagonal stripe tank top and aqua shorts. Should make it easy enough for us to gather, but just in case it's still difficult to spot me on the ground, I'll have a frog helium balloon. Shouldn't be many of those floating around. I used this at another fund raising event to help my "team" gather in one spot and it worked quite well.
Looking so forward to seeing you in a couple of days! Denise |
