Hi all,

I got my 14 mile run done yesterday and feel pretty good about it. The time was not spectacular (2:57:30 = 12:41 pace), but the good news is that I felt pretty good throughout the run as well as afterwad. I remember back to the first time I ran 14 miles last year training for my first marathon. The last two miles were really a struggle and I felt like doggie do do afterward. I think this means that I'm ahead of last year's training and should do OK in San Diego this June. Need to work on speed a little more, but when I plug the numbers into the time conversion web sight, it projects a marathon finishing time in 5:51:21, which is ahead of my goal of finishing in less than 6 hours. So I'm feeling good about it. Lot's of time to make even more improvement.

Nutrition yesterday was anything but on target. This always seems to happen with these long runs. Yesterday was our cul-de-sac's annual St. Patrick's Day street party which we went to after the run. Lot's of off-plan food there to choose from. I did pretty good until I got to the desert table and had one too many pieces of cake. Fortunately, my metabolism was going wild and the indulgance didn't show up on the scale this morning.

So I'm feeling good about my overall progress this challenge and hope to continue toward my goals one step at a time.

Hope you're all having a great weekend!

Yipeee!!! Hooray!! I completed the 5K running the whole time in 31 minutes - I patted myself on my back all weekend. It was a great accomplishment - one that I had always thought about but not had the 'guts' to try....I certainly feel stronger now.

Susan
