Yes Bill, I've also observed the change in participation on the threads. It is so tempting to just relax but then there's the price to pay (or not) come Autumn. I know I need to learn to stick with it regardless. ![]() Blessings all, Jess |

The sizzle of summer is upon us, but I have not lost focus.
The victory goes to those who learn to combat the problem and press forward. I want victory, so I am turning up the heat even higher. We can rock this thing may we give it our best. ![]()

Good Morning!!
I woke up and saw to the kiddos then meditated. I am going to start doing that every day. It seems to set the tone for the day. I liked what you said Bill - without struggle there can be no progress. Wow, I should sure have a lot of progress then Seriously though, I am learning some very important lessons this past 18 weeks. Telling lies to myself only hurts me, no matter how hard it is to face the truth it is always the better option. When things get wonky and challenging I need to be strong. I need to be strong for myself and my family & the ONLY way to do that is to take care of me. I have been doing quite a bit of emotional eating reccently & have gained back the few pounds I had lost. I'm not going to beat myself up. I know what to do to get the results I want. I CAN DO IT I might not have seen much in the way of physical progress this challenge, but there has been a ton internally. I needed that. I don't remember if it was in the 4 agreements or which book I've read lately, but the author said - you only have so much (physical and emotional) energy in one day, you need to choose how you spend it. So much of my energy was drained by emotional things before. Many of my internal changes have been to reverse that. |

Hi Folks,
Congrats on 18 weeks! JessL, sorry about Wimbledon. I spent a week in London in 1975. (Holy Moly that's a long time ago) It was very nice and sunny every day. I echo Quirky Holly above in that I did not see much change in the 18 weeks. Emotional eating is my curse. I did have a couple revelations that may have bearing on positive future progress. Certainly did a lot of exercise. Sometimes I feel as though exercise is penance for poor eating. That model really has to be changed. We are all better than we think. That's a good model to focus upon. Million Pound Guy |

Day 2 and I am on track with both eating and working out. I even got up at 5am to get my cardio in before the 113+ temps hit here in Phoenix. It was a challenge but I did it and now have the rest of the day to do whatever I wish. Funny thing is that I want to take a walk tonight when the sun is going down...wish it was cooler so I could do that. Might have to settle for a Pilates or Yoga video on the TV instead.
I hope everyone is having a blessed day! Thank you Michael for the video's to watch--I will make a point to watch them today! |

Great job getting that exercise in first thing! That tends to ensure it gets done! I know when i wait... things get busy... and it's always the first thing to go! GO YOU!

Good morning..
Feeling a little down today. Just heard a friend's mother lost her battle to cancer. She was diagnosed 2 years ago.. Really sad.. Great reflection Holly! I've come to realise the reason I've been unhappy for so long was because I've always placed my happiness externally. I'm now learning that happiness does indeed start from within.. Going to head to the gym later for some weights - chest, shoulders and arms. Have a good one! Reetu |

Whew.. feels like my life has been a whirlwind of good things..We had a really fun trip to Las Vegas for family and friend events and did love the helicopter ride to the bottom of the Grand Canyon as well as all the shows and good food. I came back pretty much on target. That was followed by a week of watching grandkids in their spaces which to me is very difficult to maintain my workouts and good eating habits. But, moderation is the key. I have been able to maintain.. not lose.. but for now it will be a victory.
As Quirkyholly wrote, the emotional challenges can get to us and we eat. I have been fighting this one, and on top of it all, being in someone's home with their treats is difficult to resist. I think of it as new ways to learn about myself. I am not doing a specific summer challenge so it will be good to digest all that was gained during these 18 chapters and watch recommended videos. I still want to listen to the last phone call with Eric. So, there is much going on. Congrats to all who finish up the 18 weeks. Hanna glad you have had success. Nini, Nikky, Buff , Chris, Sherri, Hollys, Reetu.. we have pulled ourselves through and are still here. Bill, I really enjoy your deeper level of evaluation. What is the book you are reading about American history? So glad your life is full of sharing..like with your cousin.. and time spent on your own goals of all types. Michael you are a source of new information that is one of the main reasons I love to check in to see what I can learn. Thanks for sharing all the outside sources that we can all gain from. Have a wonderful day. Marilyn |

Some of us are perfectionists and beat ourselves up when we falter. I liked this article, and will have to reread it.
7 Reasons Why Not Making Mistakes Is The Biggest Mistake from the purposefairy ![]() The FEAR of being nothing, achieving nothing and becoming nothing should be way bigger than the fear of making mistakes. A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing. ~ George Bernard Shaw Here are 7 reasons why not making mistakes is in fact the biggest mistake you could ever make. 1. MISTAKES HELP US DISCOVER WHO WE ARE With every mistake that we make we discover more and more about ourselves, about who we are, about our limits, about our capabilities, about what we can and cannot do. They help us be more compassionate and more tolerant with ourselves and others. There is a power inside every human against which no earthly force is of the slightest consequence. ~ Neville Goddard 2. LIFE LESSONS – MISTAKES TEACH US VALUABLE LIFE LESSONS By making mistakes you will in fact learn valuable life lessons and you will become a happy learner. There is so much we can all learn from our mistakes, and the moment we see them as lessons rather than mistakes, we will no longer have this crazy fear of encountering them along the journey. Mistakes are a part of being human. Appreciate your mistakes for what they are: precious life lessons that can only be learned the hard way. Unless it’s a fatal mistake, which, at least, others can learn from. ~ Al Franken 3. FORGIVENESS – MISTAKES TEACH US HOW TO FORGIVE One of the greatest lesson you will learn from making mistakes is forgiveness. With every mistake that you’ll make, you will learn how important it is to forgive yourself and many of the people around you. You will understand that you are not perfect and that perfection doesn’t really exist, only our intentions of doing our best. And who wants to be perfect anyways? Perfection leaves no room for improvement. The truth is, unless you let go, unless you forgive yourself, unless you forgive the situation, unless you realize that that situation is over, you cannot move forward. ~ Steve Maraboli 4. FREE FROM FEAR – MISTAKES HELPS US LET GO OF OUR FEARS NOT MAKING MISTAKES -isn’t that actually the biggest mistake you could ever make? Life isn’t about avoiding mistakes but rather embracing the idea that mistakes will come your way and being willing to learn from these mistakes. Let go of your fears and allow yourself to really experience life. There are some people who live 70 years, and there some people who live one year 70 times, repeating what they’re doing over and over in the name of the gold watch or whatever. ~ Wayne Dyer 5. LIVE WITHOUT REGRETS Believe it or not, if you play it safe you will have more and more regrets about the things you did not do rather than the things you did do, you will regret not making more mistakes. Personally, whenever I hesitate doing something because of the fear of making mistakes, I imagine myself on my death bed ( I know, a bit too crazy but it works ) looking back at my life on what I achieved. By doing so I realize that if i don’t take action NOW, I will have regrets. I would much rather have regrets about not doing what people said, than regretting not doing what my heart led me to and wondering what life had been like if I’d just been myself. ~ Brittany Renée 6. GROWTH – WITH MISTAKES COMes GROWTH AND PROGRESS If you don’t make mistakes how can you expect to GROW and to EVOLVE as a human being? How many of us get stuck because they allow the fear of making mistakes to paralyze them? How can we expect to learn anything new if we don’t allow ourselves to make mistakes? What do you first do when you learn to swim? You make mistakes, do you not? And what happens? You make other mistakes, and when you have made all the mistakes you possibly can without drowning – and some of them many times over – what do you find? That you can swim? Well – life is just the same as learning to swim! Do not be afraid of making mistakes, for there is no other way of learning how to live! ~ Alfred Adler 7. MISTAKES ARE STEPPING STONES TO HAPPINESS You gain confidence, courage and experience every time you make a new mistake in a very narrow field and in time you will get better and better at the things you love to do. Remember Thomas Edison? He failed more than 10,000 times while working on the light bulb and in the end he succeeded. When you know exactly what you want and when you are able to see this something in your mind’s eye, nothing can stop you from moving forward, nothing can stop you from achieving your dreams and allowing happiness to enter into your life. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life and that is why I succeed. ~ Michael Jordan Believe it or not, you will not make all the mistakes you expect to make, and when you do make mistakes, the sky will not fall down and the whole world will not stop from doing whatever it is doing just so it can laugh at you. |

Good Morning Team! Sorry about yesterdays date. I guess I want summer to linger on. But time does not and I choose to embrace today.
Yesterday I had school and then I went to the pool. Started my laps but they had to close the pool early because of a power outage. Then I went home showered and came back for my class for preschoolers. It went okay but I am really rethinking whether I will do in the fall since all I seem to do is a lot of chasing and babysitting and telling people no. I know that is totally normal for that age but I am thinking I might want to work with a older age group that can do more stuff. Today is running and tonight my strength band class. Only four more days of summer school. I have really enjoyed this summer but looking forward to some time off even though I am doing a lot of hours for my special rec job next week. |

Good morning guys. Just a quick check in to let you know I'm back home safe & sound. I had a wonderful get away, but came back home to the same crap. You really can't run away from your problems. However, sometimes hitting them strait on only makes it worse.
Sorry to be the downer. I'm working on it & the last of my assignments that fell to the wayside. This week marks the end of an other 18 weeks. I want to to honor my commitment to self & complete it ths time. (Bill's old program of 18 steps). I'm also in my 3rd week of the Summer challenge & already stalled. ![]() Have a great day. I'll be back to draw on some of my t-com friends & families energy. Right now I'm off to take Bri to the morning movie & let her know how precious she is to me.(part of my assignment 15 & also to just let her know how much she means to me).

![]() Thanks for asking. I'm ... hanging in. Work is draining, but I don't feel totally "stuck." It's more like things have gotten off-course for me at the moment, but I'm still moving forward and setting new directions. I've been working through frustrations, blowing off disappointments and holding to the idea that brighter things are on the horizon. Eventually, anyway, lol. One thing that helps is reminding myself that my job is not everything in my life. A little sunlight helps, too. ![]() Anyway, the music madness has sort of calmed down. I got through that initial storm of new music, at least. However, somewhere along the way I realized that my PC is 9 years old, and when I started looking into the performance difference between my old system and the latest processors I discovered that new a multi-core system is literally 10x faster than my current computer! That's a big deal, because I still have well over 1000 CDs to go through, and right now one 60-minute CD takes me about 30 minutes to encode. If I could really cut off 90% of the time, that could mean the difference between 500 more hours of work and 50. Suddenly the cost of a new computer sounded very justifiable. So, skipping ahead, now I have another project, lol. I put CDs on hold so I can build a new computer so that I can get back to CDs so that I can put them into storage where they won't clutter my healthy spaces! Sheesh, that tires me out just to type it, lol. Just like this situation at work, though, it may be a grind right now, but it's totally going to be worth it some day. ![]() Cheers! Chip.
