Hello! I'm still here! Still trucking along, and as on-track as my body will allow. I must confess, I'm a bit behind on my assignments. I've been so focused on reading and researching ways to heal my body naturally, that I kinda put them on hold. Every day I'm feeling stronger, and nutrition has been really good. Exercise is still a bit much, so I'm concentrating my energy on spaces before everyone is back in school - wow that's a lot of work! I'm going to try some yoga and meditation tonight. I also have a quiz in my class tomorrow evening, so I will be working on assignments hopefully Friday, and definitely over the weekend. I hope you're all staying safe in the heat!

Good morning! Had a great weight workout yesterday. Kind of sore in the shoulders now. Nutrition is going great. Might have a free meal later today, but I plan to keep it simple. I'm finally starting to see a flatter tummy and I don't want to do anything to sabotage that! Today's workout will consist of another weight routine targeting the arms, back and thighs. Have a good one!

Reetu,

I am so sorry to hear of your friend's mother--it is always hard to lose someone to cancer. I've had a few friends in that same situation. My heart goes out to your dear friend and family.

On a more positive note, how AWESOME that you are seeing a flatter tummy!! I can't wait to be in your shoes! Keep up the great work!

I had an awesome DAY THREE dispite horrible HOT temps here. Still on track with eating and workouts. I am LOVING how great I am feeling!

Good Morning Team! Had a nice day yesterday. I ran and I went to my strength band class. Today is biking and swimming and tonight Mike and I are going to a class at the library on setting up a budget and saving money. I am so thankful that we can go and start to work on that in our lives.

I watched an interesting video on cleaning our your pantry. I am definitely going to be a food label reader more carefully from now on.

What is in Your Pantry?

Once again, I learned something about myself from writing up the final summary. I no longer have deprivation in my psyche.. letting go of old habits may be tougher.. will see.. All of these exercises help me give up a fear which leads to the next revelation of what was underneath.. I feel like an onion with so many outer layers that still need to be peeled away.

Laurie Jean.. will you still be able to get to Kuai? Glad your repair will lead to more freedom. Wishing you lots of patience during the process.

Chip.. I had to smile reading about how your CDs led you to the realization that you need to build a new computer. It seems one thing always points to another and in the end, it is always worth it. But, that's what happens when you change one thing. I fell in love with a Peter Lik photo on our trip to Las Vegas. We asked for it to arrive in Sept because of travels , but it will require changing all the wallpaper and paint in our den.

Sherri.. you are such a wonderful teammate.

Chris.. you are so full of life every morning.. thanks.

Kathy.. lots and lots of good luck on your job.. and you look great..

Wishing everyone a good day.. off to my joyful day ahead..

But, moderation is the key. I have been able to maintain.. not lose.. but for now it will be a victory.

As Quirkyholly wrote, the emotional challenges can get to us and we eat. I have been fighting this one, and on top of it all, being in someone's home with their treats is difficult to resist. I think of it as new ways to learn about myself.

I am not doing a specific summer challenge so it will be good to digest all that was gained during these 18 chapters and watch recommended videos. I still want to listen to the last phone call with Eric. So, there is much going on.

Congrats to all who finish up the 18 weeks. Hanna glad you have had success.

Nini, Nikky, Buff , Chris, Sherri, Hollys, Reetu.. we have pulled ourselves through and are still here.

Bill, I really enjoy your deeper level of evaluation. What is the book you are reading about American history? So glad your life is full of sharing..like with your cousin.. and time spent on your own goals of all types.

Michael you are a source of new information that is one of the main reasons I love to check in to see what I can learn. Thanks for sharing all the outside sources that we can all gain from.

Have a wonderful day. Marilyn
WOW! "A whirlwind of good things" - I LOVE that! There's an intention I'll be holding - LOVE IT! And GO YOU!

The book I'm reading is "the real history of the American Revolution" by Alan Axelrod. He shares his opinions very freely, but he also provides enough info to let the reader choose her/his own opinion. It's funny to me, because I allegedly learned all of this in grade school, and retained very little - I just thought it was all so dry, and i really took everything for granted. As I read and re-learn now, I am positively intrigued and enamored! Looking at everything, it was incredibly long odds that the American Revolution succeeded! And yet, if you factor divine intervention in, things begin to fall in place very well. As I said, I am positively intrigued!

Have an AWESOME day!

Much love - Bill

& Well, the back & shoulders are taking their own sweet time to return to normal & I've felt unsure about Curves yet, so - next stage - Egoscue for Beginners DVD starting tomorrow evening (I've a meeting tonight) and I'm booked for an introductory session of Pilates & relaxation on Tuesday - instructor very friendly & helpful on the phone and comes highly recommended. Assuming the class goes well I'll be booking a course to start after I get back from holiday.
I need to both sort this out now and try to prevent it happening in future . . . no little old lady for me if I can help it, well, not old anyhow.

Enjoy your voyage of rediscovery Bill.

Hoping all your attempts at faster, higher, stronger are going well.
Blessings, Jess

Hi Folks,
Good workouts yesterday and today. Enjoying the warm, though not hot weather. Did 10 easy miles on the bike doing errands yesterday. Hopefully a longer ride this weekend in prep for my 50 mile time trial. The only other time I did this was in 1986. I still remember how tough it was. There is an ocean of water under the bridge since then! Yikes.

Greetings!

Day 4 for me and on track according to plan. I am moving along in the right direction which for me is HUGE progress. I am feeling great and gaining energy...although the DOMS is truly kicking in! I'm looking forward to the weather cooling down so my at home workouts (in my garage) aren't so stiffling! For now its an iced-towel around the neck and a fan blowing in my face. The bonus is that I sweat doubletime! ;0)

Chris: I got into couponing on a very basic level a few years ago. I go to a manufacturer's website, sign up and get coupons emailed to me. I also signed up to get daily emails from thefrugalgirls.com. Since I buy 90% organic, this is a super help for me. Also my local grocery store sends me coupons for organic items I buy regularly. It saves quite a bit of money.

Marilyn: I love what you said about 'feeling like an onion with so many outer layers to peel away.' I feel this way too as I am beginning my journey. What a great analogy!

I wish everyone a wonderful Thursday! The weekend is almost upon us!

Hugs,

Laura

Jess, you've lasyed out some great plans. You sure are no old lady. Keep going b/c any movement is good movement. My father in law use to say, "Well, I'm still kickin, but not too high". I'd laugh & tell him at least he was still kickin.

Good Morning!

I am off to do my UBWO this morning but wanted to check in here first. (while enjoying a little cup of coffee) Thankfully, it is going to be cooler again today--although still humid.

Wishing everyone a fabulous FRIDAY and a wonderful weekend!!

Hello Masteries!

Late getting on today, and I missed yesterday! Trust you all rocked it though!

I was on the road this week, and I had a renewed diligence for working out and nutrition, and it paid off big time! I was absolutely determined to eat well - no matter what. And I was determined to get solid workouts in too - no compromises!

The eating was just a case of making sure I had Right light with me at all times, and then just making the conscious decision that was going to work. That meant a lot of Right light on some days, and just saying no to going out to lunch.

Exercise was easy on the cardio days because the hotels generally have cardio equipment. But for a strength workout, I just didn't want to compromise and try to do something on the "universal" machine. Luckily... I found out that my 24 hr Fitness membership is an ALL club membership, AND there was a 24 hr fitness just 8 minutes form the hotel! I was still on mtn time so at 4am, I was raring to go! Got a great UBWO! This was yesterday, and so then I had to snap progress pics to send in... All I had was my cell phone camera and the hotel mirror... I have a new appreciation for folks who have to take their pics this way! I couldn't get the angles I was used to getting, and it's tough to try to snap a pic with a mirror! But, I got it done, and I still can't believe it's already been 8 weeks!

Hope you all have had an AWESOME week, and a great weekend in store as well!!!

Much love - Bill

What a fantastic day it is!!! I put in my 5 hours of watering at the convent. Came home, changed & took the g-kids to see “Brave“. It was so so, but the time w/ the kids was priceless, even if it was in a dark room & we couldn’t talk. Now hubbies home & we’ll watch some movies & cuddle.

Bill.. I just love your enthusiasm about all that is crossing your path.. amazing how we mature and realize how history is really about people like us. I just hope we learn from it.

Jess.. It takes so long to heal.. wishing you well..

Sherri.. being a grandma is pretty good.. no old ladies.. just strong and happy ones..

I started using a health bridge for my posture which Christine recommended. It is painful to lay on so far, but my back is really curved.. so I will use it twice a day, and look forward to being able to support myself in comfort.

Have a great weekend.. Marilyn

Hi Everyone,

Mind if I just jump in here now? I know this thread has been going for a good long time now but I haven't been up to it... battling medical issues, blah blah blah. I started my challenge again this week and have gotten in 4 days of exercise and healthy eating. I'm fatigued and feeling rough but so determined to do this. I will just always keep doing what I can. I love having a group to come read about everyone and share myself too. Hope everyone is doing well!

Hi Christine! Nice to see you here..

Wow, Bill, I really admire your consistency even when face with the challenges of travelling. I've been finding it very difficult to keep up with both good nutrition and exercise over the last few days. We've been having too many visitors, plus with kids school holidays my routine has been thrown into chaos!

Sherri - I hear you! So many masteries missing!

I'm going to try to get my pics in today, and complete the remaining 2 assignments. Meal planning is a little tough right now, but I will try my best to stick to plan. I wish I woke up early to workout, as the day seem to be getting more and more busy!! Going to try to squeeze in a 20 min cardio at some point. I'm sure I'll be able to find 20 mins, right??

Anyway, have a great weekend!

Reetu
