Kelli you Rock! A true Champion in the making!

Good Morning Everyone! I'm very excited to be alive & well. To be here w/ all of you. Last night we took the kids to First night Akron, which is a family oriented news years party thruout downtown. They had a 9 pm fireworks for kiddies to ring in the new year. Then we ended up staying 'till midnight for the real ones. Fantastic shows.
I'm starting off my New year w/ a free day, lol! But, seriouslly true. Since I lost 8 lbs. & stayed true to myself during the HHC I am rewarding myself. My sister always has a huge New Years/ Christmas party on the first w/ the whole family. I choose not to over indulge, but to celebrate my time w/ family.
My brother was telling me about a show that reported ice baths & 20 min. snow walks w/o a coat (daily) would increase weight loss. He claimes there were a bunch of scientist & doctors who said the body works harder internally to raise the body temp back to normal which in turn, burns more calories. I'm wondering if my brother has a hidden insurance policy out on me, lol! It takes me forever to thaw after I'm freezing! However in the quest for the perfect weight I gave it a try. Yep it was 30 some degrees & I walked about 2.5 minutes in the freezing snow, came to my senses & walked 2 minutes right back home. Call me weak, but I have to draw the line somewhere!
Have a great day everyone.

Good morning!
Sherri I love your attempt at walking in the cold! Enjoy your free day with your family!! I am also going to take a free day today, and like you will not over indulge, I'm just not planning out my meals. I am going to my dad's house to celebrate Christmas with him and my stepmom. They live about an hour away. I am also making the decision to not drink any alcohol starting today. Free day or not, this is something I need to stop doing.
Happy New Year everyone!

Ladies -

It's so exciting to read about your days. For me I kicked off the New Year with a kick a$$ workout with my trainer (Tyson) with a two hours of intense UBWO. Tomorrow I have a four mile run. I'm training for the Dallas 1/2 Marathon on March 27, 2011.

I officially start my challenge on Monday, January 3, 2011.

What are your start dates?

Hi everyone! Happy New Year!

It's been a productive day for me ... made my first ever weekly meal plan, shopped and made an EFL strawberry cheesecake. It was pretty easy ... I have never made one before, and I'm not great in the kitchen but I got through it.

M1: shake (it was really early!)
M2: egg substitute/venison scramble
M3: shake (I think)
M4: Pure Protein bar
M5: rotisserie chicken, sweet potato, salad w/grape tomatoes
M6: EFL double chocolate pudding

Exercise ... non-existent today, except for grocery shopping. That took forever, as the store was all moved around and we had to confuse the clerks a lot by asking where everything was. It's a miracle I found the malted stuff. Nobody knew where it was.

Our son went out of town with his grandparents this weekend so we have some time to get some things done ... like goal-setting and housework. Amazing, how much better the housework goes without a 3-year-old trying to tear things apart right after you get them done.

I don't know Sherri. Sounds kind of wacky to me. However, my philosophy is "Whatever works", so I wouldn't poo-poo anyone who has success doing it, but that also means if it doesn't work for you find something that does.

Hi everyone I am working on my goals for for the next phase of my transformation together with my wife. I have the advantage of having a super-awesome wifey who is also a former personal trainer, so I have the luxury of asking her to design my exercise program to help me meet my goals. I am also working on Spiritual, financial, relationship and intellectual visions and goals. There is potentially a lot of great stuff coming up in the next phase of my Transformation and my hope is that you all will help me experience all of it and that I can help you to do the same for yourself I will give a detailed update of all the goals tomorrow, and I can't wait to see all of your goals!

Good morning Transformers!
I am on the last day of my winter break and I thought I would be so much more productive At least I can say I am nice and rested and ready to jump back into the swing of things!! Today will be a busy busy day preparing for the week. Laundry, grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning, writing lessons, and what I'm really looking forward to is a kick butt workout!! I follow a training program (I am a very advanced weightlifter) that focuses on strength right now and I love it. Today the focus is squats. Im going to be walking funny tomorrow!!

Meals for today will go something like this:
1: egg whites and oatmeal (old faithful!)
2: protein powder mixed with pumpkin and oats (preworkout)
3: baked egg whites, pumpkin and oats (postworkout)
4: tuna broccoli slaw
5: chicken with pinapple, peppers and soy sauce
6: protein powder mixed with peanut butter and pumpkin

I eat a lot of canned pumpkin! Love it so much!

HCC 2010 Review

Below is my latest blog. Time to move on to the next challenge. My focus for 2011 will be to methodically create the new habits that move me toward Transformation goals.

I have made no visible progress during this challenge. I have used this period to evaluate my first year of Transformation while continuing the volunteer work at the hospital, the daily exercise, meditation and meal planning and consider these things habits now. I now feel confident that I can get everything done and that I can do even more. My Transformation plan for the HCC was clearly too grandiose for a two month period, but I have discovered how to approach the whole program and succeed. It is to identify the easiest positive change [or changes] that I am willing to make now, focus on it until it is habitual, then move on to the next. Coming to that understanding, figuring out the best way for me to succeed, is most empowering realization that I have come to. -Abe-

Hi everyone! Hope you are having a fabulous day.

I feel kinda yuck today. I think it is allergies ... winter in Florida is tough for me, there is a lot of pollens I'm very sensitive to in full bloom right now. Makes me tired and stuffy ... I stayed in bed and hibernated for a while. I finally managed to get up and get going, when the hunger got overwhelming.

We are doing a good eating day, but no exercise planned that I know of. Tomorrow I will start in earnest. I can't speak for hubby! LOL

M1: slept through
M2: EFL vanilla malt (I was soooooo excited to find this in the EFL book, I love a good vanilla malt)
M3: EFL Tropical Tuna Sandwich (was delicious!)
M4: EFL iced chai (hubby was excited, he loves chai)
M5: EFL filet mignon
M6: EFL strawberry cheesecake

My assignment one answers
  • Heart & Soul:
Having looked inward to do some soul-searching, three heartfelt reason for making the decision to transform my health and life are:

    1. To have a long, healthy life with my wife
    2. To have the physical and spiritual energy to accomplish all my goals
    3.
    To become more than average

    Emotions:
In recent days and weeks, the three most predominant inner feelings I have been experiencing are:

    1.
Excitement about the new things I am doing in my life
    2.
Disappointed with myself at being out of good physical condition
    3.
Anxiousness about moving into the future

    Mindset:
Three patterns of thinking or beliefs which may have limited my ability to change are:

    1.
    I can do it tomorrow
    2.
I don't have time to exercise
    3.
Eating healthy food is not as fun and tasty as unhealthy food.

    Body:
Three objectively verifiable statements which reflect my physical condition right now are:

    1.
My weight at the start of my 18 weeks is 203 lbs
    2.
My before photo IS a picture of my current physical condition
    3.
    My waist size is 35/36

    Looking forward 18 weeks.......

    Heart and Soul:
Looking forward, 18 weeks from now, three changes I wil have made that show I'm more aligned with what's important to me at a heart and soul level are:

    1.
I will have a stronger, healthier relationship with my wife
    2.
I will have more physical and spiritual energy to do more positive things for those around me
    3.
I will feel like I have made positive changes in my life and the world around me

    Emotions:
Looking forward, 18 weeks from now, the three most predominant inner feelings which describe what I'll be experiencing are:

    1.
Joy about the things I have accomplished and progress I have made over the past 18 weeks
    2.
Happiness about being in good physical condition
    3.
I will feel more confident about my choices for improving my life and the lives of my family

    Mindset:
Three new patterns of thinking for beliefs which expand my ability to make healthy changes for the better will be

    1.
I will change my way for thinking from "do it tomorrow" to do it NOW!
    2.
I will learn that I do have time to exercise
    3.
I will prove to myself that healthy food can be fun and tasty too

    Body:
Three objectively verifiable statement which will describe the new and improved condition of my body 18 weeks from now are:

    1.
Within 18 weeks I will have transformed my body to a healthy 170-180 pounds
    2.
My after photo will show a healthier body that is the REAL me
    3.
My waist size will be 34 or less

Good morning! Today is back to work, it was nice to have 11 days off but I am paying for it now! I had planned to do a little work everyday during my break but it didn't happen. Coupled with the fact that my boss gave us all a "free pass" so that we didn't have to submit our lesson plans this week. Ugh! I was up to 11 last night working on it because even though I don't have to submit them I still need them!!!

I have about 2 seconds to check in, in the mornings. I will probably set goals, blog and comment on other blogs in the evening. Just wanted to say "Good morning!" to the group!
