Ok jolly jumpers, how is the jumping going?? I don't see any workouts posted here!! Have you all left us?
![]() Here is my jumping workout for today ~ 30 sec jumps with 1 min rest ![]() 1. Regular jumps 2. Skip jumps 3. Jumping jacks jumps 4. Side to Side jumps 5. Regular jumps 6. High knee jumps Had a great workout and looking forward to increasing the number of circuits. I don't think that I will jump for 1 min anymore. The 30 sec intervals work much better for my knees and shins!! ![]() |

Jumped tonight in Grant's Pass, Oregon
My date with an empty parking lot went like this: 30 sec jumping 20 sec.. moving around while resting 4 sets of that. I'm feeling more comfortable with jumping and it's FUN!! |

Hi
I know this thread has been going for a while, but i am joining in now. I have a reebok plastic rope and I will go buy a yoga mat to jump on, should definitely increase my endurance for the 10k run. Look forward to letting you knw how i do and hearing about your progress. Currently not a lot happening at this end - I have flu and temperature : ( |

Ok, I know I just posted, BUT i have a question - where do you learn to skip?
I can do regular jump roping for about 1 minute - have been doing Coach Brad's commando workout, which is boot camp style jumping jacks, skipping, press-ups, sit-ups, mountain climbers etc. In 45 minutes, I think I skip 5-6 times for a minute each time (on concrete or wood floors : ( But, all the other moves????? |

Just curious if you jumpers are counting your sessions as your cardio or if it is extra....I had a good one this morning and I'm counting it for my cardio for the day!
This morning my jumping: 22 minutes 8 sets set consisted of: 100 regular, average jumps 20 rocking horse left leg 20 regular jumps 20 rocking horse right leg rest 30 seconds to 1 minute in between. My last set I ended it with an extra 100 jumps. |

Check out this UTube Jumping Rope Routine. It's a pretty gentle approach to getting started out. If you are doing Coach's commando workout you are most likely in great shape to jump rope. ![]() YouTube - 10 Minute Jump Rope Cardio Workout Let us know how you do.. ![]() |

I will be jumping as cardio as soon as I'm conditioned well enough to do for 20 minutes. Meanwhile I'm using it as EXTRA. Thanks for posting Heather ![]() |

Just been informed I have to travel to Uganda today, back Friday - I am hoping the flu will have completely gone by then - have not exercise all week! So from the weekend I will try to check out that video on u-tube and get started.
Kath a nice comment - but not sure about the great shape yet - look more like a flailing frog when doing Coach's work out : ) |
