Boxer Crunches
A number of people have asked what the heck those goofy looking things are I'm trying to do in my 9 week video. They are Clarissa's Boxer Crunches, that she had on youtube, but have disappeared from the link on the "Cool New to You" Exercise thread.
(They did NOT look goofy when Clarissa did them!) ![]() Here's a similar version: YouTube - Atomic SitUps(45lbs) |

Thanks Clarissa and Sally. NOW it makes more sense!
Clarissa, how is this on the lower back? I sometimes get issues with mine, so don't want to attempt something that will cripple me ![]() |

It just takes time to do............
Dianna............. It is alot of core work, but it involves the hams, glutes, and quads. I have never had back issues on this particulare move, so you should be alright. Of course, if you have any twinges, be sure to stop........ |

OMG.....my friend and I tried these at our fitness center here at work today. Too bad we didn't have a video recorder....It would've been hilarious! At one point I was laughing so hard I couldn't even do a regular situp. Clarissa makes them look so easy!

Is this one of those exercises that only girls can do? I almost racked the poor guy that was trying to help me. lol
I think I need to build up my core some more before I try this again. |

I'm willing to keep trying Clarissa, but I don't have a clue how to work up to being able to do one. My goal before the end of this challenge is to do one set of one

Okay, so I basically took my husband out trying to get this done...here he is straight legged, leaning against the wall, and I grab his knees to get up...poor guy...he's like, are you sure you are doing this right...of course I did work out my abs really, really well, cause I laughed so frickin hard...
by the end of this challenge, I will get 1 set of 25 done...or kill my husband trying. |
