One question can set you free
As we move through this transformation process, we are asking God / the Universe (either verbally or non-verbally) to help us grown in:
love light peace of mind joy wisdom mastery of your own mind mastery of your emotions self-knowledge ( to realise who you REALLY are & who PRETENDS to be you) self-control ... in short; to realise your full potential. In doing so, you can expect (rest assured !) that you will attract and experience lessons as a result of your request. The Universe always gives you PRECISELY what you need ... just know that it's rarely in a form that you might choose for yourself ! These lessons can be tough, stressful - even painful, as we look at ourselves more closely, as we dig down ever deeper. But ... no matter what you experience or go through during your "transformation" and beyond into your life's journey, always remember to ask one question ... "What is the lesson here ?" ... seeking the answer to that question (bearing in mind why you are here in the first place) will be your path to freedom Namaste !

Thanks Paul, you always nail it! Asking myself this one question has challenged me but also helped to guide me in my journey!
Love you!

So true Paul! This was a great share. I am definitely experiencing this and it's great to stay present to this concept because the lessons are everywhere! I'm sure they always were and I was just unconscious!

Thanks, Paul -
This is a lesson in itself that is difficult to learn, especially for a recovering control freak like me... It's good to look back and see how the things you once railed against took you on a path that actually let to something better than you'd planned for yourself! It's a lesson I'm learning! It's difficult to remember when you're in the throes of what-you-didn't-want! Thanks for all your posts (and for "letting" me steal some!) ![]()

Hi Paul - while I do believe there is a lesson to be learned from every experience, how do we find the lesson when the Universe has given us something that is threatening, and very scary? I am faced with a crisis right now that I totally believe I will come out of with strength, but I am struggling to find the lesson in this. Do I keep meditating and praying on it? This is something that has come right of left field, and has me totally baffled - I'm sure God will enlighten me at some point.

Paul, thank you so much for this great reminder, that we choose our perspective from darkness to light. Both are present in all things but in pain we are blinded to the light by our fears. Simply human nature, and we can choose to turn toward the question, what is the lesson here, what can I grow from in this.
And, Ann... I would add to Paul's thoughts only this... when the pain or loss or fear is too great to ask about the "lesson" what I have learned to do is to get more personal with God, and I ask about everything "Where is God in this"... I ask in faith because I already know that God is in all things, and his words tell us that he wants to bless us, not see us harmed in any way... so then life creates fear or harm I do not thing that is of God, but he will allow us to go through it. Knowing he promises never to leave us alone, and that our struggles will be used for our spiritual growth, I can then ask, "Where is God in this?" from the perspective of asking him to show himself to me. In a terribly huge way, I even asked that about 9-11 way back now, and God's presence showed itself all over in the compassion of people for one another, from the victims to the perpetrators, and I imagine how God wept for all of us. If your beliefs are anything like mine, I offer you this. If not nothing is lost, the Universe assures us, that nothing is lost, it is all used FOR us in the longer run. |

What makes ANYTHING threatening or scary is just our thoughts about it - whether it is something relatively minor or finding ourselves in a situation where death seems certain; the news, event or situation "just is" - we are the ones that attach meaning to it and either make it scary or peaceful, we either resist or accept the Universe's wisdom and right actions which conspire to give us the optimum opportunities to grow as we are destined to grow.
Sending you love, light, peace and wisdom to see things differently. Wow, Paul. This is just what I needed right now. How did you know? I'ts all about finding the window that opens when the door slams shut in your face and you think you know in which direction you're supposed to go. With my job search, I'm trying to look forward to opportunities and the excitement of learning a new place, probably a place more urban than Freeport, Maine, a place I have come to love. It's hard to think about leaving here, or the possibility of leaving my daughter. I have to look at the opportunities for me and my son in a different place, and having my daughter on holidays... It's a work in progress...

Thanks Paul - I am reminding myself to accept, and acknowledge that what is happening right now, just is. I do believe that there is a message here for me from God, and I also believe that these things are given to us to help us grow as people. You're right, it is my thoughts that can make it scarier than it really is.
Thanks trgaff, too, for your advice. I know that God is here - I don't believe that turning my back on God will help at all. So thanks for your advice, and prayers! Ann |
