Just Had to Share - Awesome Things That Touch Our Lives

This morning I have had the un-expected opportunity of having time to catch up with my inbox! Occasionally I receive some of the most inspiring and heart touching/pulling ones - Ones that make me breathe deeply and feel the gratitude and love that is behind them.

Some are You Tube links, some are stories, some are funny, some sad, some just awesome pictures that show the full force of life in motion or serenity.

One thing they all have in common is that after reading, watching or listening to them - I am never the same again.

This Thread is for all of us to share those messages - To place links to things that stirred our souls - to share with each other the beauty and love that is all around us - my first is here

a link to a story that touched my heart and then the words at the end that touched my soul - have a look - share your thoughts or even a link to something that stirred your soul.

Love and Light and all things happy and full of gratitude

Whilst Looking for a picture to put with the above I found these words.

So - Just Had to Share

Be careful of your thoughts, for your thoughts become your words.
Be careful of your words, for your words become your actions.
Be careful of your actions, for your actions become your habits.
Be careful of your habits, for your habits become your character.
Be careful of your character, for your character becomes your destiny

An Example for all of Us

This is a link that I was sent in an email today - about a young 15 year old who silenced the UN for 5 minutes.

It can be found on you tube - the web address is below for you to copy and paste into your browser.

She says she is only a child - but she is wise beyond her years.

Awesome

Both post were so powerful. Once again I cried.

If you scroll the youtube video to the comments I think you will find something so disturbing-a post dated 1 day ago spewing expletives at the image of a young girl and her passion and then another and another. Whatever your view on global warming and the problems facing the world community today, I feel that until venom like this is removed from hearts or a bright light shone upon the hatred so that it cannot hide behind an asinine screen name cowardice, then the real work will not begin. I guess that's what we are trying to do here; being the change. Carry on Spiritual Warriors!

WoW - I had not looked at the comments below the You Tube clip - How awful - I must be such an innocent, I am shocked that such people exist.

Cherokee WisdomWhat a great story to pass on to our kids and a lesson to be learned by us all.
Two Wolves

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a

battle that goes on inside people.

He said, 'My son, the battle is between two

'wolves' inside us all.
One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret,

greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies,

false

pride, superiority, and ego..
The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity ,

humility,

kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion

and faith.'

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his

grandfather:

'Which wolf wins?'

The old Cherokee simply replied, 'The one you feed.'

A Story of True Friendship
A man and his dog were walking along a road. The man was enjoying the
scenery, when it suddenly occurred to him that he was dead.

He remembered dying, and that the dog walking beside him had been dead
for years. He wondered where the road was leading them.

After a while, they came to a high, white stone wall along one side of
the road. It looked like fine marble. At the top of a long hill, it was
broken by a tall arch that glowed in the sunlight.

When he was standing before it he saw a magnificent gate in the arch
that looked like mother-of-pearl, and the street that led to the gate
looked like pure gold. He and the dog walked toward the gate, and as he
got closer, he saw a man at a desk to one side.

When he was close enough, he called out, 'Excuse me, where are we?'

'This is Heaven, sir,' the man answered.

'Wow! Would you happen to have some water?' the man asked.

'Of course, sir. Come right in, and I'll have some ice water brought
right up.'

The man gestured, and the gate began to open.

'Can my friend,' gesturing toward his dog, 'come in, too?' the traveler
asked.

'I'm sorry, sir, but we don't accept pets.'

The man thought a moment and then turned back toward the road and
continued the way he had been going with his dog.

After another long walk, and at the top of another long hill, he came to
a dirt road leading through a farm gate that looked as if it had never
been closed. There was no fence.

As he approached the gate, he saw a man inside, leaning against a tree
and reading a book.

'Excuse me!' he called to the man. 'Do you have any water?'

'Yeah, sure, there's a pump over there, come on in.'

'How about my friend here?' the traveler gestured to the dog.

'There should be a bowl by the pump.'

They went through the gate, and sure enough, there was an old-fashioned
hand pump with a bowl beside it.

The traveler filled the water bowl and took a long drink himself, and
then he gave some to the dog.

When they were full, he and the dog walked back toward the man who was
standing by the tree.

'What do you call this place?' the traveler asked.

'This is Heaven,' he answered.

'Well, that's confusing,' the traveler said. 'The man down the road said
that was Heaven, too.'

'Oh, you mean the place with the gold street and pearly gates? Nope.
That's hell.'

'Doesn't it make you mad for them to use your name like that?'

'No, we're just happy that they screen out the folks who would leave
their best friends behind.'

Awesome!! We complain about the cross we bear but don't realize it is preparing us for the dip in the road that God can see and we cannot.

Whatever your cross, whatever your pain, there will always be sunshine, after the rain.... Perhaps you may stumble, perhaps even fall; But God's always ready, to answer your call.... He knows every heartache, sees every tear, a word from His lips, can calm every fear... Your sorrows may linger, throughout the night, But suddenly vanish, with dawn's early light... The Savior is waiting, somewhere above, to give you His grace, and send you His love...

This thread is beautiful. I especially love the story with the cross. I read a beautiful book called lessons from the school of suffering. Father Jim wrote it as he was dying of cancer. In it he shares that we must shift our gaze from the cost of the cross to the gift of God's grace.

Jesus told his disciples, "If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves, take up their cross and follow me!" (Matthew 16:24-25)

If it weren't for bearing the crosses that have been "given" to me, I would not be where I am today. God provides all we need to carry our crosses, no matter how heavy they get if we just learn to F.R.O.G. (fully rely on God) We are created in His image and have everything we need to be everything we want - EVEN WITH A CROSS ON OUR BACK!

Great post, thanks for sharing!
In His Embrace,
Denise
