Is that like a rabbit? Habbit? LOL I'm sorry! I hear ya, kinda on this! Football season is coming and I LOVE ME SOME FOOTBALL!!! And with it I love Margaritas! I have just made a conscious decision that I will not do that anymore! It only hurts me and prevents me from reaching my goals. You need to figure out what is more important to you and I pray its not the beer!!! When you are bored....COME HERE!!! What better distraction from negative forces in your life than THIS PLACE...THESE PEOPLE!!!

We will all help you and be here for you, but it BEGINS WITH YOU! Make the choice and be stronger than a drink!!!! You don't need it! Grab a water bottle and just sit back and enjoy the game and wish you were out there making those hits! (Thats my wish sometimes!! LOL!)

If you are going to indulge on the weekends, try to limit it to one day and try to only have lite beer. I know that is hard because, let's face it, lite beer tastes pretty much like water. If all else fails, have one regular beer on the weekend so you don't feel totally deprived. Everything in moderation.

Why are you choosing to limit your time on the weekends to "friends"? What will that give or take away from your life? What about experience? Why not look into starting a home based business based on something you are passionate about, or look into classes. Did you know a lot of local farmer's markets have classes that teach cooking, healthy eating on a budget, and more? What about getting involved with volunteering and doing something for your community? How about taking on a project with your house or in your neighborhood or to help someone else out?

This will be the single most important factor of your transformation to "figure out" because there are loads of hours in the weekend that can be spent working on YOU and making a difference rather than having to spend them just on friends or beer or football.

I know, I used to drink all of the time too. I would binge on weekends and could not shed the fat as a result (I later discovered what I really needed to shed wasn't the fat or even the habit, but the mindset and self-image that made me feel like I needed the alcohol).

I still love red wine and drink my fill, but I can't imagine actually being bored on a weekend or having nothing more to do than watch TV. I hike, help teach local community classes, work on writing and coaching, do yardwork, volunteer, run races, help other entrepreneurs with their projects. Of course, there is nothing wrong with grabbing a beer and watching some football - I like to grab a beer and shoot some pool myself, but then the rest of the weekend is for being productive and growing!

Yeah I am not much of a beer or alcohol drinker but I do hit the couch to watch football. Especially on Sunday, I watch at least 3 games. There is nothing wrong with throwing down one or two beers on a Sunday. But if your used to binge drinking I would slowly try and cut back.

If you love it, keep it for Free Day.

I love it too much, too, so am off it. For a while...

I understand what you are saying. I love wine. It really is a habit for me too. I just gave it up for the first day this past Monday. I usually come home from work or come out of my home office and pour myself a glass when I start cooking dinner. I am trying to substitute it with nonalcoholic cocktails and I have been drinking hot tea in the afternoon with my 4th meal. I really like the way I feel when I don't drink....I get a lot more done in the evening and I love to read.
Do you like to read....I also like to get on line and read what everyone else has been doing all day. What is your exercise program? Maybe you should start doing some long hikes or bike rides on the weekends.

Mark,

The best is that you want to change that habit and recognize what's coming (TV and Football Season)

How about just try this for a weekend... no beer and switch up your routine.. find something else that fits into getting you to your goals. I understand about drinking and I love some wine myself.. but, learned I was substituting drinking for finding something else to do when I was bored. I learned it was a lazy-thinking way out of boredom. Looking at it this way sure doesn't fit into a healthy life or is of any help in getting me to Transformation.

Now imagine that you get through the weekend beer-free and you've done something physical or different than normal. Come Monday you will be feeling very good about your achievement and self-control and it will raise your level of confidence that you CAN be accountable to yourself. Just IMAGINE how you can grow from those kinds of pro-active choices. You will feel amazingly energized and ready to meet challenges even stronger!

You Can Do, we believe in you!
~Blessings~
Kath
