Purpose!

Everyone born in this world has a unique role that only he or she can fulfill. Were this not the case, we would not be here. The universe never acts without cause; everything invariably has a reason for being. Even the weeds people love to loathe serve a purpose. I might add that every cherry blossom has its own personality, a purpose and meaning in life that is unique to it--as do the plum, peach and damson.

I saw this and thought it would be a good thread to start in memorey of those who did not get the chance to make this journey with us. If you have someone in your life that has helped you find a purpose or don't know yours yet seek it in everything you do. I believe that you are here for a reason that only you can fullfill........

I will start this off..... My purpose is slowly evolving from one of choas to one filled with love and happiness and my mom was a huge factor in helping on my journey 3 years ago on getting clean and staying clean
My daughter for getting me started on wanting to lose weight because I wanted to be around and enjoy her wonderful life and be able to enjoy her.
Suebella2000 for loving me when I did not know how to love myself and loving me enough to let me fall and dust myself off as I learn to walk a life that is not fear driven! I love you honey!
My sister who has enabled me to stand on my own by letting me fall when I couldn't see my life was worth living. I love you sis and hope one day you will join me on this walk soon.
And all my friends that I have met here on this journey!

Dennis..thank you for being so open and honest.

As for myself-Im not sure WHAT my purpose is YET..but the deeper I am getting into this fantastic & powerful journey..I feel bits of it coming to me. Im almost positive part of my Purpose is to be here for others & TURN AROUND & Use my past experiences/trials in a POSITIVE manner to help others. I cant wait to see it all unfold!

For me it's going out to the young men & women and telling them there is a better way in life than gangs, drugs and even prison and to give my all to whomever needs it.

Dana you are so right. I'm so fanatic about wanting all I come in contact with to feel as good as me. The better part is I'm learning to be a little more subtle and only inform if they ask me. Big d you started my whole attitude. We are children of our Heavenly Father, he loves us. We do have a divine destiny, but it is up to us to make it happen. Plantman what you say is why I love my job as a special education teacher. 80% of students in special education are there because of their parents behavior. Whether it was brain damage due to drug or alcohol abuse from mom or dad, physical, emotional, sexual abuse by a family member or close friend, or parents are never home to listen to their children. Then I have to pick up the pieces when they can't concentrate and let them know how special they are without bringing God into my class. What a farce everything I am is because of the prayers I say on my students' behalf. I can't tell you how many times I've went to a meeting on a student and had inspiration to say something that lets the student know I care. kennei

"This is the true joy in life - the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one; the being thoroughly worn out before you are thrown on the scrap heap; the being the force of nature instead of a feverish selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy.

I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community and as long as I can live, it is my privilege to do for it, what I can. I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work, the more I live. I rejoice in life for it's own sake.

Life is no "brief candle" to me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got hold of for the moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations."

(George Bernard Shaw)

Life is a labor of love! I am with Gloomraider! When I am done, I want it to be said "Here lies, Jeff, nothing left!". I am learning to surrender to my purpose, and let wisdom flow through me! For this act is much more effortless, than trying to "Do it on my own!"

Great thread Dennis! Great job in being the change!
