Vitamins & Supplements for Health
I'm throwing this question out to you gurus
![]() What vitamins & supplements are VITAL for getting a healthy body? Is taking a multivitamin with a fish oil pill enough? Should I be taking CLA or other supplements? My goal? To maximize the health of every cell in my body. Thanks for your help in advance!!!

I truly believe the only VITAL thing you need for a successful and STUNNING transformation is good, whole, clean food! However, I do take fish or krill oil and Vitamin D daily.
Whatever you decide, by-pass all the fatburners as they are ALL a waste of money and could also be dangerous. I eat a green shake each day which is SUPER for reducing inflammation in your guts and super healthy for your cells. I am sure you have checked out Chris Winter's green shake????? I'll go find a link for you. If you want to feel FANTASTIC, eat one of those each day!!! I LOVE THEM and they make me feel super!

Multivitamin is a good basic and a high quality fish oil. Most peple could also use some additional calcium and vitamin D. Most people do not eat enough fatty fish to get enough Omega 3.

You guys are pretty awesome
Thanks for the suggestions! Sandy - I forgot all about Chris' green shake! I may have to ease into that by simply putting kale and/or baby spinach into the berry shakes I'm drinking right now. (I love my VitaMix - best purchase EVER). At least this will be giving me a ton more leafy green veggies (I'm not too crazy about eating green leafy veggies - in shakes I can't really taste them too much). Kathy - I've heard that Vitamin D is something that is becoming more and more of a miracle vitamin. My girlfriend says that deficiencies in Vitamin D can lead to Alzheimer like symptoms - and that just by giving the body this vitamin that many people have started to see amazing results in their bodies and their brains. Cool stuff ![]() Thanks again!!! Julie

Julie, the two other very important ingredients are spirulina and chlorella. They help pull heavy metals out of your cells and reduces inflammation and the taste is hidden, just like your greens!!!! You will LOVE them! But as you said, just ease into them and enjoy that new Blender. It REALLY makes a difference in green shakes!!!!!

Most people are deficient in vitamin D. My sister have fibromyalgia and has been prescribed 50,000 IU twice a week. The current RDA is 400 IU.
There has been much talk about raising the RDA but it still has not been done yet. The best type to get is D3. The best way to get your D is from the sun. 15-20 minutes a day but obviously that is a little difficult in the winter.

Sandy - notes taken on the spirulina & chlorella! Any ideas where you can pick that stuff up?
Kathy - AMAZING isn't it? My girlfriend has a serious immune deficiency blood disorder and taking vitamin D really has done wonders for her health as well! I pulled out the VitaMix and made a healthy, healing smoothie. 1/2 orange 5 frozen whole strawberries 1 cup apple juice 1/2 cup mixed berries 1 romaine lettuce leaf 1/2 scoop vanilla whey protein 4-5 ice cubes I'm not a HUGE fan of leafy green veggies, but using the VitaMix is a great way to liquify these enough that I can't taste them, yet I still get the benefits from eating them. Darnit...I forgot I had bananas - would have added one of those too I made enough for myself and had enough left over to give some to my 6 yr old who really liked it. Heehee...I'll get you to eat more green veggies - even if I have to sneak em' in ![]() Hope you all have an amazing day!!!

Julie you should be able to pick them up at a health food store.
I can't do greens - My taste buds hate things like cilantro, tea and green drinks. I know they are good for you. I do green tea in a capsule form. My sister actually has multiple auto immune issues Reynaud's, Fibro as well as Diverticulitus and ulcers.

I use fish oil and a multivitamin. I do use other supplements as well but they are goal specific for me. The best advice I can give is to reasearch and supplement you are interested in using. You can waste a lot of money on worthless products, also remember supplements are there to compliment a sound nutrition program,

Julie, you can pick them up at any healthfood store, however, they are MUCH cheaper on the internet. The BEST place to buy them would be vitacost(dot)com!!
Also, a few really good fats you can use in a smoothie is avocado, nuts and or coconut oil!! yumm!
