Progress Reports

Here we will track our progress throughout our 18 week Transformation Challenge. We recommend formally reporting progress every 3 weeks, but we definitely want to celebrate any and all successes as they occur, so be sure to share those events in the daily threads as well!

Progress reports are an outstanding way to ensure we don't take our progress for granted and also help to keep us accountable.

You can report any way you choose, but try to include updates on progress toward each of your goals, rather than solely on your physical progress. Remember, we want to celebrate ALL of our successes, which includes mental, social, spiritual WINS as well as the physical ones!!

Suggestions to include in your Progress Reports:
** list each of your goals from Action Step #1 with a statement about your progress.
** list your starting physical stats and progress stats to date.
** include your progress photo - best if taken in the same clothes you wore for the BEFORE photo

Well I guess I will be the first one to report. I lost 12.2 pounds on my first week of serious eating and Weight Watchers. This week I got serious and it paid off!

Since January 4th I have lost 3 pounds but have gone from 18% bodyfat down to 16%. All of me exercises have increased x2, I can do P90x Abripperx complete without stopping, My goal is to be able to do P90x+ abs without stopping before my challenge is over. Diet has been solid so far, I have total control on my portions and foods I eat, it has almost become effortless as a result of some discipline I exercised early on.
My goals are to continue to add weight to my exercises and add length to my cardio workouts, also eliminate calories as I continue to loose weight.

Day 21

Hello everone, Progress report time.

First off I wanted to state some of my goals from my starting assignment week #1. I will list them as I put them in my assignment three weeks ago then make a couple of statements about the goals.

LOOKING FORWARD 18 WEEKS
And now it’s time for a really fun part of this assignment. I need you to look forward to a point 18 weeks from now
and envision what you want the results of your transformation to be. Again, to help guide you I’ve got a set of
self-inquiries.
Heart and Soul
Looking forward, 18 weeks from now, three changes I will have made that show I’m more aligned with what’s
important to me at a heart and soul level are:
1. I will be a positive example for others to follow.
2. I will help as many people make the needed changes in there lives as I can.
3. I will be fully engaged in a healthy, purposeful life.
Emotions
Looking forward, 18 weeks from now, the three most predominant inner feelings which describe what I’ll be
experiencing are:
1. Happiness
2. Confident
3. Compasion
Three new patterns of thinking or beliefs which expand my ability to make healthy changes for the better will be:
1. Knowing that I will be an example for others will keep me on track
2. With the proper mindset, exercise and nutrition... health, happiness and the ability to help others will follow
3. I will be a better Fiance, Father, Son, Brother, and Friend
Body
Three objectively verifiable statements which will describe the new and improved condition of my body 18 weeks
from now are:
1. I will weigh under 170lbs, 32" waist and under 14% body fat
2. I will be proud of my after picture.
3. I will be stronger and healther than I ever been.

I am becoming healthier and happier by the day. A more complete person per say. I am a positive example for others to follow through my examples of proper nutrition and exercise. I am telling family, friends, and co-workers about Transformation.com in order for them to become fully inguaged in a healthy lifestyle as I have become. I am well on my way to my 170 pound goal weight.

Now a little about my physical changes.
I have to say I was dissapointed when I took my waist measurement. I measured it at 40 inches. This is where I started three weeks ago(or so I thought). I couldn't understand this. I have gone down a notch on my belt and my clothes feel looser. After I reviewed my measurements I wrote down three weeks ago I found out i was wrong. My measurements are as follows....

Starting Weight 208.8 3 Week progress Weight 200.4
Starting Waist Measurement 41" 3 Week progress Waist 40"
Starting Belly Measurement 44.5" 3 Week progress 43"
Starting Neck Measurement 16.5" 3 Week progress 16.5"
Starting Chest Measurement 45.5" 3 Week progress 46"
Starting Left Bicep 14" 3 Week progress 15"
Starting Right Bicep 14.5" 3 Week progress 15"
Starting Left Thigh 22" 3 Week progress 22"
Starting Right Thigh 22" 3 Week progress 22"
Starting Left Calf 14.5" 3 Week progress 14.5"
Starting Right Calf 14.5" 3 Week progress 14.5"

Well I think that is a three week WIN. I wanted to loose 9lbs but I will take 8.4lbs. I am not sure I mentioned this before but I the middle of December I tiped the scales at 218.5lbs. So I decided to ease into the transformation process loosing almost 10 pounds in two weeks before my official start on January 3rd. Now the plan going forward is to loose 2 pounds a week here on out. I am sure there will be a week in which I will loose nothing but I will hope to have some 3 pound loose weeks in there too.

I posted my 3 week photos on my profile page if you want to check them out. Not to much of a difference. Check the side shot for the biggest difference.

Have a great week 4 everyone. Stay Strong... Bob

My first progress report 1/24/2011. I joined T-Com 1/1/11 after much procrastination and having tried to “go it alone” a couple times. I find that I have made better progress here in 24 days than in months alone. Best of all, there is no doubt in my mind that I will complete this 18 week challenge with better results because of my involvement with this community.
Here are some of my goals from step 1 so you know where I am headed.

18 weeks from now I will be experiencing inner peace like never before. I will have joy in my heart and lightness in the way I feel about life

I will be proud of myself for overcoming the obstacles that have kept me stuck in “smallness” and dissatisfaction. My mind will be calm and clear.

I will feel confident in my choices and in my actions as I will be making good choices and following through on them.

I will believe that I am much smarter than I had thought I was in the past. I will listen to my inner voice and act on what it tells me to do.

I will be empowered by the people around me, not limited by them. I will no longer be blaming my partners for my limitations, as they are my own and I can change them.

I will feel that I am a worthy person and that I deserve everything that I get, including the praise and respect that others give me.

Within 18 weeks, I will be 5 lbs heavier. My weight first thing in the morning before I’ve eaten will be 169 lbs. My mid-section measurement at its widest point will be 33 inches and my chest will measure 42 inches.

My skin will be smoother and have a healthy younger look and the smile on my face will be impossible to hide.

The strength that I have gained will be evident in my “after” photo as my chest, shoulders, arms and back will all have larger muscle mass and definition.

I have made progress on all of these goals except for my skin being smoother and healthier; continuing on this path will bring results there. I am healthier, more at peace and proud of myself for overcoming some obstacles, not the least of which were getting more comfortable in sharing in this community. I am calmer and clear minded (maybe there is something to not drinking everyday).

I am empowered by the people around me and I am beginning to feel worthy of the respect that they have for me because I do make a difference in their lives. What I do counts!

This morning I weigh 165 lbs. which is a one pound gain, that’s good; I want to gain 5 lbs in muscle. My mid-section measures 36 inches for a loss of one inch and I have gained just about an inch in my chest.

I’ll have to take a picture to post and will post it once I figure out how.

Time to move on to step 4!

Well already into week 4, it's gone by really fast, with few bumps in the road. I started this program on 1/2/11 and I weighed 160.8 & this weekend I weighed in at 151.2 - so a little over 9 lbs. My goal is to lose 20 pounds by the end of 18 weeks. I didn't take measurements the first week, but I did this weekend just so I have a benchmark to go by at the end. Waist=29", Hip=37.75", Thigh= 23", Chest= 36.5", Upper arm=13.25"

But my most important goal was to change my insides so I felt more at peace, part of my community and to be more of a servant to God by helping others in need.

I have definitely reached out more in the past 3 weeks than I have in the past 3 years. It all worked as I had planned. I graduated on 12/18/10 and after the holidays I told myself I am changing my life & getting out of my comfort zone because I have to have more to offer. So after the holidays I was going to devote myself to losing some weight & reaching out. Then I found Bill's book, while looking for a book on yoga & my old BFL feelings came back. It was almost like destiny, because I saw the book as I was walking out of the store after not finding any yoga books. So I grabbed it, bought it & read it within a few days. Logged onto Transformation.com and the rest is history..or should I say my future

In the past 3 weeks I have volunteered several times to help out at church, I helped with a benefit for my friend who has Melanoma, started yoga and had a party for myself and actually mingled and interacted with EVERYONE. Normally I am kind of awkward in social events, and while I had to kind of push myself this past weekend, I actually enjoyed talking with everyone. When helping at church yesterday, I worked with a woman from Uganda who goes to my church. She was so sweet & genuine. She hugged and kissed me on the cheek-and it didn't feel weird-it was a connection. Then to find out that her husband is a police officer like my husband-connected us more. So I had a really warm feeling afterwards.

So can't imagine what is in store for me the next 12 weeks or so, but I have a feeling it's going to be even better. I thank you all for your support & Bill Phillips for his determination to change the eating habits & lifestyles of people all over the world.

Kathy

After 3 weeks of Transformation, I have lost an entire inch around my waistline.

My face looks a little less bloated, and overall I feel leaner.

The thing I've noticed the most is my increase in energy levels and mental focus.

I do not feel lazy and procrastination has diminished. I have been motivated to work on some of the projects that I have been putting off for years, and have reduced the amount of idle time doing useless activities that would get in the way of my goals and projects.

Cravings for cookies or any type of junk food has come to a stop. I still enjoy a nice Italian dinner on my free days but I have improved on portion control and the binging issue.

I'm convinced now that there is a direct correlation between the food I put in my body and the quality of work I produce.

Challenges come and go all the time but today I choose to keep the focus on the positive and not give so much energy to the negative areas by dwelling on them so much. These past 3 weeks have not been perfect but knowing myself, if I focus too much on what went wrong I will overlook all the wonderful things I have achieved ever since starting this transformation journey....and will ultimately look at it as just another failure.

I am feeling super and hope to continue on this path. It has lead me to great self discovery and awareness.

Congratulation on everyone's muscle gains and body fat losses. It is very inspiring to read how everyone is making progress and serves as a reminder to focus on progress, not perfection.

Cheers!!

I've been following Weight Watchers since 1/3 and I'm down 10 lbs, and a little over 3 inches lost.

This is only my 1st week on the Transformation, so I don't have a whole lot to report there, except I'm feeling a lot more positive. Maybe because for the first time in my life, I've reached out for a support group?

I'm glad I'm accountable to you folks!

I joined this week and I lost 5 pounds just through restraint and a little more activity. I don't have a regular exercise routine or food plan in place yet, but I can feel myself regaining control over me a little. Thanks for all your support.

Hi everyone!
I am not down much weight for the past 3 weeks - I have lost 10 lbs in the first 6 weeks & have 10 to go. More importantly I was pleasantly surprised to see that I am losing inches (since week 3 when I measured) & I am down one pant size (6) & some of them are a little baggy.

Waist = 28" (- 1 "), Hips = 35.75 (- 2.5"), Thigh = 22.75" (- .25"), Chest = 36 (-.5"), Upper Arm = 12.75" (- .5"). So down 4.75" in 3-weeks!

My running is getting better, but I want to push myself more there so I can do 9 minute miles. I am stepping out of my comfort zone every week & staying in a good mood more often than not. Kathy

Kathy, why does it not surprise me that you are the first one to post your progress here this week? Did your cat help with your typing again?

It's 5 AM and I was just going to read a few entries, have a cup of coffee and then get started on cleaning more of the den (action step 6). My plan was to write my progress report later in the day but Kathy has inspired to "just do it" so here is my report.

I don't have much to say about my physical progress other than I have hit all of my planned workouts, planned some of my days’ worth of meals (real progress!) and I feel good!

Where the real progress is for me is that I finally got action steps 1-6 posted for this group to see. I cannot begin to tell you what it felt like to press the "Submit Reply" button on steps #1 & 5. To write these action steps was meaningful and useful, but sharing them was powerful!

More big progress is that I have begun to de-clutter my house. I have cleaned out desk drawers that were packed with 16 plus years of "stuff". I have discovered that I could not use these drawers because they were full. Now I have my daily organizer (Franklin Covey), planning pages, meal planning pages and pens in the top right drawer at my desk, not planner in the kitchen, pages in closet in den and meal planning pages needing to be printed. I have file folders for keeping things I need, sorted and findable.

I have made this 18 week challenge (read process) a constant focus and am deeply involved in making my live better. This is progress from working on the 18 steps now and then, on my own, starting and stopping and not really getting the full benifit of the process.

Thanks for the support and the safe space to share in.

Progressing,
Clarke

Progress at the end of week 3:

I find that perhaps the biggest transformation is taking place in my mind -- especially my acceptance of the mantra "to change what you can and learn to accept what you cannot" . . I know I misquoted it, but I'm sure we have all heard it many times . . and I'm finding that concentrating on the change I am making and letting go of my worries about what I cannot has helped me so much to focus on the work I AM doing! I look forward to the continued journey and am so excited for the future possibilities.

Physically I am down 11.8 pounds in 3 weeks and off a base of 5 different measurements have dropped 6.5 inches . . (3 in my upper thighs - woo hoo, that IS exciting!). And I can SEE the muscles in my arm starting to develop, I can feel them in the chest, and well, lots of good things are happening!

I was diagnosed with sleep apnea two years ago and since I began this journey, I am sleeping so much better than ever before, refreshed most all of the day long and not craving snacks (which is huge for me). My doctor told me that I possibly am a candidate for coming off CPAP once the weight is down, which would be very freeing as I am rather claustrophobic about the mask I wear. I see my regular doctor in a month and a half and I can't wait to see what he says . . I have known him for 25 years and he will be so, so happy with what I am doing.

I feel stronger, with more endurance, and I have decided to follow in Lisa's footsteps and attempt my first 5K in 13 years sometime in the next six weeks and to do one every 6-8 weeks after that. My son is really getting into the morning weekend hikes in the desert with me and wants me to start biking with him too, so I am tuning the bike up today so we can go this afternoon . . LIFE IS GOOD!

Kelly
