45.5 + 2.5= 48 miles for yesterday

Add to that today 48 + 15 = 63 miles !!!

Yep, I ran 15 miles straight, unfortunately on the treadmill!!! You know the routine for me...started out for 5 and I covered the panel and was going to run for an hour and then I wanted to run 10. So at 75 minutes I looked at the panel. When I got to 10, I decided to redeem my disappointment in my 1/2 marathon time and continue to 13.1! Got there in 1 hour 59 min and 25 sec!! ( I could never do that outside!!!) Then I thought back on the spirit challenge that I did with Lisa C for 15 miles, but I ran 10 rested then ran 5 and I thought I could keep going, so I did!! Ended up with 15 miles in 2 hours 22 min and 25 sec!! That even beat my 1/2 marathon time!!! Can't believe that at the beginning of 2010 I was running 2-3 miles at 5.3-5.5 mph and today I ran 15 miles averaging about 9:30 min miles! I could never have come this far without the support and encouragement of this team!!!

Hey, it's not much, but I did snag 2 miles just after midnight last night. Darn - too late to count isn't it?

Love you all!! And am soooo proud of all the miles you logged. Thank you Lisa C for the challenge and I bow to Lisa R for an amazing BANG to the end of the New Year! Just WOW!

Ran 19 miles this week!!! No wonder I lost 4lbs last week

I'm so grateful that a prayer has been answered. I prayed early on when running that it would become easier. Its easy now. I look back over my week and think Wow I did that many. I'm not sore or anything. And then ran 5miles last night even though I had already worked out 7 times last week.

Total miles for the HHC: 63miles

Just came back from the outlet mall. I got so excited to find clothes at the Nike store at half price. I found this hoodie at the outlet that i was looking for at Academy. It was my size and $25 less than the exact same piece! Can wait to run, The weather is beautiful here. 62 degees!

Wanted to share something exciting that happened yesterday. Brian and I ran a 5k to start the new year and I had a personal best! WOO HOO!!

It was funny too because we didn't get to bed till late on New Years Eve. Not because we were out, but because I was nervous. I was actually starting to talk myself out of the 5k. Even though I've been walking / jogging, I didn't officially finish C25k. That goal of doing a 5k in under 40 minutes seemed kind of impossible. Would it really hurt if I didn't go?

I knew I couldn't bail on going though, because we payed for it. (even though I thought about it) Plus, I sure didn't want to start the new year not doing something I said I would do. Not to mention, Brian said we were going! He was going to at least get his shirts. lol!! I told myself I would just go down and walk it. I mean, we walk / jog 3 miles at least 2 times a week so that shouldn't be hard. Right? Right!

When I woke up after 4 hours sleep I had a little talk with myself, and my head got in the game in a good way. I started to think about the goal of 37 minutes I had put in my goal book. (which honestly, when I wrote 'run a 5k in 37 minutes' it seemed as impossible to me as someone who says they will lose 50 lb in 30 days. I am a REALLY slow jogger. 37 minutes was what one would call a STRETCH. I had never run 5k in under 40 minutes, let alone get close to 37) I also remembered this was all my idea, and Brian payed for it because I wanted it. *gulp* For me to back out would be wrong. (and that meant backing out by not trying)

We got there and it was absolutely gorgeous. I was instantly grateful I had gotten out of bed.

By the time I warmed up I was feeling GREAT!!

We started the race and I jogged for the first 9 minutes!! (a first) I walked for a few seconds, and started jogging again. I kept thinking about you all, and the great things you do and I continued to jog. I thought of the clock saying 37 minutes when I was finished, and I jogged. I thought about the 315+ workouts I've done this year, and I jogged. I mean, maybe I didn't finish c25k but I've been working out. My heart is strong. My body is strong. Why do I tell myself I can't? Anyway... I thought of taking the "w" out of wogging and I jogged. Brian said he believes I may have walked 2-3 minutes total the whole way. (another first) Wanna know something cool?

My time was 37:04!!!!! YAY!!! I DID IT!! I would have been crazy happy with anything under 40, but 37:04??? Something that just seemed crazy, over-the-top hard for me and I DID IT!! YAY! YAY! YAY!!

It was a GREAT way to start the day, week, month, and new year!!

After the race we took a walk to enjoy the morning, found a church service to attend, (in our running gear. Bib #'s and all) then tacked the ultimate stair master.

We did this sucker end-to-end, up-and-down and it kicked my tail!!!!!!! It was a great tail-kicking though!! My legs are KILLING me today, but I still wish we had something this size close by. The size and the fact that it was concrete really helped. We have bleachers on base and in town, but they are metal. With the fog we get here bleachers always seem wet and unsafe. I felt unsafe on this one only when I got light headed at the top of the second row. *oiy*

Anyway...

Thank you all for being such an inspiration and in my head the whole time. I couldn't have done it without ya.

Happy New Year!!
