Transforming w/ M & C - March 21-27th Accountability

This is our new Accountability Thread for this week. Here we will check in each day to report how we did sticking to plan - how we fueled and exercised our bodies - how we are feeling. This is also where we will ask our questions, celebrate successes, share tips and tricks and seek and provide support and encouragement to our teamies!

THIS THREAD WILL REMAIN OPEN FOR THE ENTIRE WEEK. Daily check-in is encouraged, but not required. We do know the more often you connect here, the greater your success!

Happy Monday All! Hope everyone had a good weekend. Nice & rainy here yesterday, but supposed to get nice today & the COLD again!! Oh well.

Made some really nice connections this weekend with the Chicago people that were at the gathering Saturday. I am so grateful for this community and what I have learned over the past 12 weeks. Thanks again Carin & Marty for keeping things together & helping all of us reach our goals. Hopefully we will all pay it forward in your honor. Kathy

Happy Second Day of Spring!

Things are really hectic and busy for me right now (family and work), so I probably won't be checking in too much the next week, but I'll be thinking about you all! I'm doing much better than I expected with my food an exercise. Everything is kind of whacky, so I haven't had any planned meals or planned exercise, but I've stayed away from all processed foods, fast food, and haven't overeaten, so that's good. No gym time, but lots of walks and playing in the pool, so that's good too. Hope you all have a great week!

Hello everyone, I survived last week. Not sure how this one will be yet. Did post my 6 week progress in the progress thread. Still can not see much change but can feel and measure it. That is what matters right now. Still working on step 5. Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Ok wonderful food at the Get Together! Good clean and healthy! Did good there but on the way home the devil spoke to me LOL It was a big sign that said Krispy Kreme Donuts ! I drove right past it and then heard this voice my son who is home from college said how much he loves them and he is home visiting us and there is nowhere around us to get them! o a U turn I did and brought home a dozen! Ok so it turned into a free day LOl but sure was good at least during the feast not so much afterwards LOL!

So Sunday I ate clean !

I had great work out this morning and trained someone and am going to spend some time with a first cousin of mine that it has been 30 years since we have seen each other! I can't believe that since I am only 31 LOl

Guys,
It's snowing here today in Connecticut....

A question...How many pieces of Fruit do you guys eat a day? I want to do my best not to take in too much Sugar and although its natural, it's still Sugar.

I want to keep the fat burning furnace really cooking!

Thanks

Back on track!

Oh, for the first time, really, since starting, I had two terrible food days, but am back on track today. Am paying for last nights "guilt-free" meal at a friends house, by feeling sluggish and puffy. Had total body workout with Ku yesterday- there's nothing that doesn't hurt (in a good way!). We did a 10-mile trot in the cold, rain and wind. NO shelter out there....three one mile 1700 foot climbs and he barely broke a sweat. I was able to 'post' for the entire distance....last year, 1/2 mile was my best. BUT, I'm moving slowly today.

Today's Plan
M1-oatmeal, flax, 1/4 c. skim--WIN!
M2-Protein Cappucino--WIN!
M3- Curried Lentils, apple, 6 crackers, green tea--WIN!
M4-Protein shake--WIN!! (the hard part...NIGHT....is coming!!)
M5-1/2 salmon patty, steamfresh veggies...Win!! (hang on baby, almost there.....)
M6-string cheese, orange

Workout
Soft stretching, pilates DVD--WIN!! (ow)

Gratitude
For a strong, confident horse who literally keeps me on my toes!
My gym, that's just a short walk down the road.
For not giving up last year. I could weigh 80 pounds more than I do now, had I continued down that dark and dismal road.
For employment that provides excellent health care benefits and retirement.
For our nations farmers and ranchers, who provide food that is safe and plentiful.

Have a marvelous MONDAY, everyone!!
Lisa

Edited - 1 pm - HELP!! I am having UNREAL sugar/salt/protein cravings today!! I'm being good, (but thinking bad thoughts ) staying on task and on plan.....this hasn't happened for MONTHS. Argh - and this is "picture weekend." I need to go wrap my head around a new projects.....

THANK YOU, KATHY, for the "Step Away" warning!! Anyone got a shock collar?

Hi all,
This is my first post on a weekly thread. I have completed my Action Step #2 assignment. Although I have exercised more or less consistently for years, I really learned new stuff from Bill's book and have stepped it up. I'm definitely working smarter (and more often).

Food is another issue. I have had clean days and not so clean days. I am coming off an 800-calorie a day diet plan (doctor supervised) and have not adjusted well! This week I will concentrate on getting used to eating the Transformation way.

I am using Right Light Chocolate shakes, but contrary to all I have read here, it leaves quite an aftertaste to me. Any suggestions?

Also, I would love to find an accountability partner. Please make any suggestions in this regard.

Thank you all for this opportunity.

Good morning everyone!!!

Here is a link to my weekly plan:
http://www.transformation.com/aleigh...omorrow/137556

As for meals today, they are spread out in a weird format (I'm working a night shift 7pm until 7am tonight, so I have weird sleep schedules etc), but here goes:
6 a.m MI - had a shake with banana & blueberries
11:15 a.m. M2 - had oatmeal and scrambled eggs with spincah
2 p.m. M3 - will have baked cod and steamed veggies
5:30 M4 - p.m. pork tenderloin; steamed veg; small apple
8:30 M5 - couscous salad with chickpeas
11: 30 M6 - yoghurt & almonds

My night will turn into a little of tomorrow....
2:30 - MI- organic bar
5:30 - M2 -shake with berries
- then I'll sleep from 8:30 until 2:30
3:30 M3 - eggs & oatmeal
6 M4 - baked cod & steamed veg; apple
8 M5 - yoghurt & almonds.

** does anyone else work weird erratic shifts and have any suggestions on how to space out meals?? I work casual, so I don't have a set schedule, so this is the best format I've come up with for planning, but am open to any suggestions.

- I'll do my upper body workout on my break (we have a full gym at work), and will do cardio tomorrow as soon as I get up from my 'morning nap.'

- Starting week 4 today, and I have to say I'm a little frustrated that the scale hasn't moved at all..... (although I have a sneaking suspicion this is water retention this week, which you ladies on here should be able to relate to - I can fluctuate by a few pounds easily when that happens). The good news is that I have lost 1/2 inch on my mid-section, but still - I've been tracking my calories and I'm on track for those (avg of 1560 per day), and have been doing my workouts - I guess I need to find it in me to go even more intense?? Argh..... of course, the true payoff is how I feel - I feel fantastic, very energetic and happy!!!!

Ken - you asked about fruit. I personally eat a lot of fruit. Probably 3 servings per day - I tend to track the calorie content more than sugar, and as long as my daily caloric intake is on track I'm happy. But that's just me - and I don't have sugar issues so I don't stress about it too much. It's fruit - loaded with vitamins, and fiber. My favorites are apples, pineapple, grapefruit, blueberries, oranges. Someone may totally disagree with me here, but I really think we can get carried away worrying about the sugar in natural foods - my focus is on eating natural and healthy foods. Not sure if this helps....

Have a great day everyone!!!! I need to run and finish a paper before I head to work (counting down the days until my semester is over, ugh)

Oh, and IRIS - Welcome to the thread!!!! Great to see a new face on here - truth be told, this is only me second week on here I think, so I'm new too, lol.....

There's a thread under the group threads for Accountability Partners - I had posted on there, and ended up finding two!!! (One from this group, and one from someone who posted on my blog)... maybe even posting a blog about it? That way you'll have access to people outside of the group as well.... - or reach out to the new members - in last week's thread Carin posted a few links to profiles of new people to our group.

Have a great day!!!

Hey Nea, like your little post. Sometimes it's what I feel too =)

Last week was hectic. I finally caught the sick bug from all the kiddos. Laryngitis on Sunday- it's difficult for the kids to take you serious when you can't talk =)
I did cause me to eat a lot less than normal, I just didn't feel hungry. No exercise Sat, a short flexball workout Sun. evening and today I'm back. A full 30 minutes on the elliptical. Also, back to eating the right foods.

Lots of new faces here. Welcome all! Have a healthy week. ~M

I listen to Bills radio show yesterday and he was talking about the importance of goals...hard cold goals...no way around it if you want to succeed...I have been lax in this area
So with that in mind I used my Works program and their templates for an exercise log that I can track with my computer.
I did 1.23 miles Sunday and plan on doing exactly the same 3 more x this week...I picked up the pace...it felt good.
cleaned my bedroom...it really needed a little sprucing up

As I embark on week four, I want to start to post my eating and exercise so I am accountable to this wonderful group as a whole. Yesterday, I rode my tandem bike outside in weather in the low 40's, but it was exquisite. We rode 15 miles in just over an hour. This AM I did a 45 minute weight training session with my trainer. Yesterday's nutrition:
M1 2 egg whites on 100 cal high fiber English muffin
M2 Right Light peanut bar
M3 3 oz broiled haddock, small baked potato
M4 skipped oops
M5 bowl turkey chili
M6 skinny cow ice cream sandwich
My goal is to try to get all six meals in today. And boy, oh boy, is it tempting to write what I know I should be doing rather than what I actually did!!!! This transformation business is pretty serious in regard to self honesty.

i'm really motivated today. i ran outside yesterday and today... the weather is perfect here - 70's and sunny. i'm on track with my eating. i know for a fact that when i eat every 2-3 hours, i don't fall off the wagon---- so, my plan is to focus on my meal times. so far today, all is well here. thanks to all for sharing.

Hello ! I am sitting in my usual divot in the couch with the laptop on the arm. I have not been able to post in the a.m. lately - and I don't like it. I like to have the time to post in the a.m. and then sit in my divot in the early evening and catch up with everyone's day!! Busy mornings I think are the time sucking culprit - I have been making more lunches for my daughters instead of taking the time to be online. I also have been slower moving since the time change. So I am making it a point to get to bed earlier to get up earlier and make time.

Carin - you have inspired me to make a chiro appointment. I am listening to my body (hip) and I need an adjustment! Great thing - I called tonight and got in tomorrow! Our chiro is a former student - love her! I have no reason for not calling her more..

I found a Beans, Rice and Cheese Burrito at Costco this weekend that is made with organic tortilla, beans and rice that I was able to have for dinner when I was rushed for time. 260 cal, 1g of fat (0 sat), 13g of protein, 7g of fiber.... not bad in a pinch... 48g carbs and too much sodium. Better than skipping a meal.

Okay - I must move on and get out of the divot before I get too sedentary here and fall asleep. And now I have a boy who is crying over spelling words - oh dear - got to go..

See you in the a.m.

My Plan for Today!

Hey Don, I am starting my 5th week and like you I can feel it in my clothes and it is easier to cut toenails, put on socks etc, I can see it on the scale, but I can't see it yet in my body, but it'll come my friend! It'll come (-;
