Hello All! Well - I started getting ready to walk the 13.1 on Oct 9th. I walked about a mile and a half before I needed to come home. Hmmm...walking is a laxative for me...that could be a problem. Went out 3 other times today and got in a total of about 4 miles. Decided I need to get some GOOD socks and some shoes that don't have the heels turned over.
I am starting to get used to the heat....think it was 108 or something like that today - we are all going to have to break out our coats if it gets below 100... ![]() Bea |

It has been a slow poke kind of day for me. I have used every delay tactic in the book to put off getting my walking journey started (cleaning, dishes, etc...) Even now I decided to just pop into TCom before heading out the door and I find myself chuckling ... DELAY TACTIC!!
GOOD ON 'YA BEA for posting that you have already accomplished your walk. If I want to be a part of this team, then it is time to get my batootie out the door and moving in a healthy direction instead of "reading" about the healthy choices being made around me!! Three cheers for Bea and her inspiring example of how it's done!!!!! |

![]() It's hard to believe that Saturday is ALREADY over!! We enjoyed a FABULOUS family day. We ventured to the very end of the Las Vegas strip and weathered the 113 degree day. I had to pick up some make up, and the closest Sephora is there. (ugh!!) So we packed up and drove the 25 minutes. In the shopping 'center' there, is a WICKED awesome kiddo play area, which includes a small 'water park' where water shoots up from the ground like little geysers. The kids have TONS of fun trying to chase them down and predict when they will shoot back up. It was fun just watching them!! We also stopped at one of the Borders book stores that is going out of business and grabbed some great deals on books. Then it was time to head home for dinner. And POOF...the day is over!! I think I actually am experiencing stress fractures in my right leg...AGAIN. They have happened because of the metal I still have in my right leg from shattering all 3 bones when I was ski racing many years ago. When I get SUPER active, sometimes that metal begins to wiggle loose and bam...stress fractures. I will set up a doc appointment for next week, but because I've had them SO many times, I can pretty much tell I have them again. We just need to take some xrays to see how bad and how many there actually are. Hopefully not so bad I end up in a boot...again. I sure HATE those things!! Fingers crossed. With that being said, no workout today. We did some walking, but even that is irritating my leg. Tomorrow I will at least get my core/ab workout in as scheduled, but I think I may have to really lay off cardio, (unless its on the bike or in the pool) until I get the doc to clear it. I already have to be careful because of my ACL tear...jeez...I'm falling apart. Well...glad to you are all enjoying your weekend, even if that means you're MAKING yourself get out there and get 'er done!! I'm off to watch Hoodwinked 2 with the boys and a bowl of healthy pop kettle korn!! Have a GREAT Saturday evening, troops!! See you tomorrow!! ~Jenn

So the weekend has escaped me again. I don't feel like I did much of anything, so... where has the weekend gone? Finished work yesterday, went and got my car from the shop, almost made it home before it died again... UGH!! Stupid alternator. Today we did back to school shopping!! It is insane how much school supplies are! Seriously a 6th grader needs a scientific calculator and a USB flash drive, that makes me feel old. They didn't even have those when I was in 6th grade, except the calculators, those cost $50+.
Then there are the clothes. My 11 year old wears a juniors size 9! That's the size I want to be. It's sort of upsetting. I must throw in there that she is also pushing 5'7" and yes I did say she's 11! In the midst of shopping today I walked 3.70 miles, not bad for me! Have a great day! |

Sunday is OVER already...that means the weekend is at its end. SIGH. It was busy and we got a lot accomplished, but I sure wish we still had time to just be lazy and enjoy time as a family. We did have a great weekend, though. ![]() I think we need to actually 'plan' our time management over the weekend like we do during the week, maybe not 'as' planned, but we need a little more structure I think. Will put that on my list for the week!!Parker heads back to school next Monday...WOW. We're all school shopped, and I have to agree with Laura that school supplies are SPENDY!! HOLY SMOKES and he is only a 4th grader!! Lucky for us, we don't need to even THINK about jeans and long sleeves here until the end of Octoberish. LOL. Its shorts and t-shirts until then!! No jackets or anything until well into the rest of the world's typical 'fall' season. I do actually miss having fall in the FALL. Tripp- I shattered my tib/fib and femur and had surgery (obviously) to repair all 3 bones. I have had some of my hardwear removed, as I healed so quickly and completely, but I still have 4 IM rods 11 screws and 26 pins remaining in there!! Thats a LOT!! I haven't had a single issue with my femur, and the bulk of those pins and screws are there, although I broke my ankle and have 2 plates and a few pins there. (what a SORRY right leg, eh??!!) My issues have always been with my tib/fib and they don't want to remove any more of that hardware. So....I deal with stress fractures off and on. Like I said, I think that is exactly whats going on. I'm sure I'll have another bone scan if the xrays don't show much. (they usually only show the really big stress fractures) Fingers crossed!!! Well troops...I'm off to get a thread done for tomorrow and then its time for lights out and dream land for this little firecracker!!! See you all in the morning!! ~Jenn
