Hi, Ravs!! I have been down on myself lately. I try to keep my chin up, but last night, I was just having a pity-party. Today, I'm feeling better and I realize that I have so much to be thankful for... even when things aren't 100% well in my life.

This weekend, share what you are grateful for!

My gratitude list:

* A wonderful, loving hubby and kids
* Parents who love me so much they paid $70 to ship low-iodine homemade food to my house, since they couldn't be here to cook for me when I was on my low-iodine diet
* The most wonderful group of friends a girl could ask for!
* Funny and loving sons... they always make me happy
* Energy - It's not 100%, but it's coming back day-by-day!
* A beautiful, sunny day
* The most incredible views of the mountains as I drive around town
* A new (second) job. I've been needing a little extra cash

My oldest daughter's birthday party today (She is standing up, my Mom is in the background) I just wanted to share!
I have a plan all worked out now...simply starting with volunteering to do the shopping for the household, which my parents usually do (we all live in their house till mine is finished) and they hate doing it. So I will!! I will also plan out the menus--usually a month at a time (which is kinda tough)--but I have to get Mom's approval on it too. Usually I can pretty much have free run since Im the pickiest eater in the house (Im probably the pickiest eater in the tri state area) other than my youngest...now THAT is a challenge!
Anyway, for now I am just jumping at any chance to take a walk! I walked a little over a mile the day before yesterday & yesterday...not today. Today was dedicated to getting the birthday party all set up! It went well and the girls all had a very nice time I did too! I should be getting to bed now! I did get step 9 don on paper but not posted and I am working on steps 10 & 11 I do believe. I am just following instinct here as to what will help me the most as I go!
I wanted to thank everyone who chimed in and let me know someone was there...it helped. Like I said, I dislike feeling so weak & reaching out, but I need you all and thats why Im here! So thankful the Good Lord has blessed me with a great group of friends like you in this amazing community!!! I <3 Tcom

Hi Ravs!

I might not get in here much next week. Very hectic week plus end of the month with business 'stuff'.

Setting new goals and starting afresh this week too. Want to be 'head down; bum up' [so to speak] and get on top of everything. I'm still here though!

TERRI ~ Thank you for posting your gratitude list. The determined nature of your grateful spirit has blessed my heart with joy in celebration of the positive visual that each and every one of your thoughts bring to my mental awareness!!!!

Life seems to often be an experience of light and shadow for me, and yes, at times I too have experienced complete scary moments of darkness for brief episodes as we all do I think. But the light is always there and when I take myself toward the light, EVERYTHING seems brighter. It HAS TO for darkness and light cannot be side by side. This is why gratitude thoughts and expressions are key to my own healthy survival -- and I believe others as well -- gratitude turns my head toward the light when I am caught in the middle of that war. 'For we fight not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities of the unseen world'

For the following (and so many more) I am grateful:

*The chirping of the birds
*The beauty of the sunny day
*Jeannie's colorful and festive birthday photographs
*The ability to communicate with people through this little box and keyboard called a computer
*Clutter that needs to be addressed around me because I have been blessed with abundance
*Fresh clean water to drink
(which I have just gone and taken advantage of 16 oz for myself!!! - HAVE YOU?)
*The consistent focus of effort I am following through with on my current challenge push
*My parrot PACO (I foster her for a Navy Commander stationed overseas)
*My Armani figurine display (gifts from my husband) and how the joy from their beauty always brings a smile to my face!
*That I have leaned about the key to making an omelette .... low heat!
*Alarm clock to wake me up when it is important
*My new shoes for cardio exercise ~ the support of my previous ones had completely broken down long ago and I was feeling it in my shins too frequently to be able to stretch the old ones any further. I am grateful that I considered myself worthy of the important and necessary investment.
*For this cyber community that Bill funds, and all of you who make it home for me.
*That I am so close to completing a double bachelors in Film and American Studies
*That last week I was finally able to wear some jeans again that I really like for the first time since last fall. The big ship IS turning again!!!
*For a car that works
*For a comfortable bed to sleep in
*For a faulty septic tank system that will eventually be fixed so I can shower at home again, because I do have a disposal system unlike so many in the world. In the mean time I am truly grateful for the warm relaxing showers that my gym membership provides me.
*For the life of my father and the many valuable life skills he taught me... may he rest in peace!
