Just stopping by to say WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rico
How are you doing in your transformation? Are you still able to use the Dvds? Have a great week.
Hows the training going?
Greetings, Well, as in a song...pleasure is the child of pain... I have trained with 6 foot 8 inch Cullen Bryant of the ....yes Los Angeles Rams, rigtht now with a man named Les or Mr Magilla Gorilla and have trained with Arnonld, Sly and also Jack La Lane on his 80th birthday.. I do remember when old school was brand new and i do remember when high intensity hit the gyms with folks like Mike Mentzer, Pete Grymkokski and others leading the way... Well, i turned 53 today and have trained on and off for 39 years.... lately i focused on losing 33lbs... Well, pardon me but one thing i do for fun regardless of what my routine is is get some good pumps to feel real good.. I use a combo of intensity and volume and i like Arnold's version of supersetting and a lot of techniques.. Well the thing is i see some folks in gyms not breaking a sweat we sure know better than that here... Now ya see when your muscles feel like they could break thru your skin we are talking one good pump... I haven't done that for a long while.. Now there are some folks in my BFL group who have trained for years but haven't felt endorphins popping, some adrenaline and good pumps.. Well, it is important to focus on the benefits we are reallly looking for but the feel good stuff or what i call "enjoys" are fantastic too.... Actually i do feel endrophin withdrawl if i miss workouts and the thing is adrenaline is dripping in our body all the time they tell me... Yes we can tap into a lotta good stuff ... Well my dear we have a little differerent taste in music but oh yes i have pushed pain barriers some...in many types of exercise.. Now some folks have a real exercise addiction and that can be a problem.. I need to train twice a day to feel right but all is well and i feel really good.. The sequence i use to pump my arms works every time...chest and back is harder and legs still harder.. the ...feeling is well worth it ... and keeps a lotta folks trainining hard.. By the way when some folks are handling a lotta weight it is not some kinda torture...some are having the time of thier lives.. Now my friend Les or Magilla Gorilla over dos it with wieghts and does little cardio.. I often pass on intensity and get the results using volumne training.. Well there are all kinds of theories and research but it seems to me sometimes my goals are specifically to really feel good and dealing with some pain does lead to pleasure...no doubt.. Now the thing is in one gym i go to some folks are trully going thru the motions... and in a place called "the dungeon" and at Gold's a lotta folks over do it.... At some point this is trully our program and we may need to look at some realities.. One is toward the end of this challenge a lot of folks will not be taking free days and some will be modifying there training quite a bit.. One thing i'm gonna do is something that Lance Armstrong did ten years ago regarding periodization of eating and training in synch ... His fuel for high performance...was in synch and went in cycles with the training on his bikes... Well a lot of info to me is complicated and not worth learning but if Mr Armstrong's coach wants to spell it out i'll sure will take a look at it.. Well, golly gee i keep refering to folks who talk about training as being mostly in the mind and most won't buy it.. From the book "Education of a Bodybuilder" to Bill refering to Dr Maltz work there is a ton of evidence....old and new ...some used by coach Lombardi some used by Tiger Woods...and millons in between.. I don't need Tony Robbins to walk over hot coals... I'll walk over black pavement for a long time barefoot for you.. but let's not be foolish about it... Just a few days ago i was talking to some ultradistance runners... I asked ...how did you do that... One said.."it's all in the mind and we are all crazy" If you'd like i could swim most of the day but i will not do the English channel the H20 is too cold and unfun... My buddy Ian Emberson swam 32 miles from Molokai to Oahu... in a very rough channel... Now the thing is geez an Iron Man contest is quite impressive to me but i know a guy who ran a marathon a day for over 20 days.. Now i happen to have a bad knee so that impresses me.... Well, here is some kind of concept ...how about impressing yourself in training.. Well i was kinda working up some endurance and did an 8 hour plus training session....in 3 parts in the pool, track and gym... Happens to be i believe in some ablilities i have at 53 and i rarely use age as an excuse.. Well, i need more recovery time than 22 year olds and i'm slower but ya see some of them are gonna have to get up real early to beat me... It's 3:55 am and Marty and some folks probablly think i'm lazy and foolish... Well that's true but i am setting some records over here... and going for a comeback in my sport. What is sooo funny is that one age division is called grandmasters and one is called legends...All of those guys are better than me but i'll paddle circles around them...some day.. Ya see i ain't giving up my ocean sport till they pull the plug on all the oceans. Now after saying that it took me 20 contests to be a state champ it took my friend Bret one...but he died young from drugs.. Now when i see you folks over here i will talk wild but i am the best designated driver on this island becuase i don't drink and don't put anything harmful in my body... Now if i do a little cliff diving here please keep in mind i started in the H20 a long time ago in my diapers and tomorrow is year 53.. On the cover of a fitness mag now is a friend who does push the limits and does a 70 foot dive on Maui...however he is the son of an old hero of mine and all us guys started out in 2 foot waves... Well, i gots to start all over in small waves becuause i have a bad knee that throws off my balance....but ya see i have an orthapedist, have used pts, CPT's and a lotta folks to help... Now here's where friends come in...Surf Tech set me up with the best equipment, and so did other cos...It's kinda funny i have to have a "Go Banna's" logo on my car rack for one unoffcial sponsor the point is if ya keep doing sumptin long enuff ya have a chance at a lot.. Seems to me sometimes just some good enthusiam goes a looong way. Today i had a pr down current and up current and walking in sand.. and it's happens to be i ran into a friend who grew up with polio and heard about his adversity.. He finished his part off an odd relay yesterday morning and we covered as much shoreline as some dinner cruises.. Well, yes 53 can be a great birthday and right now some birds are chirping outside and i have taken up too much space on the same kinda song. Yep, yes, i can get a great 20 min cardio workout but also preach doing some distance cardio.. The thing is...that is sumptin i enjoy and i can bend some eating rules quite a bit.. Aloha, Tom
How are you?!!!! What's up? I've been thinking about you. Hope you are all healed up. Blessings. ~Sharen~

The music is new on here. The first song is my song. To me it represents myself now. Later i will change it to one i feel represents myself. I sooo love music and when i heard this song i just told my daughter that is me. That is how i feel inside. I can also relate to the song pain. Days run into each other and it seems sometimes that i have no feeling.....just emptyness. I can't tell you how thank ful i am to have friends on transformaion and BFL tracker. You are all special to me. Thank you all for your motivation and support. We are in this together.....like a big family! Kudos to you all! Love ya ~HOlly

Thank you! I picked this name being my dogs' name is "Pepper". It has been a joke with my family that i should of named my other dog "Rocky" salt then when i call for them i can say "Salt and Pepper". I decided that i didn't need the salt regardless. LOL
Love the name...
