Step 5 - Lifetime Intentions

I feel inspired, energetic, confident, and alive when I’m engaged in these three activities:

1. Eating healthy and working hard in the gym to achieve and sustain and healthier and more active life.
2. Helping others achieve their dreams.
3. Reaching people, especially youth, through singing and playing music.

Moving my awareness into the future, seeing myself when I’m old and gray, healthy and wise, the answer I’ll give to explain why I’m so grateful, happy, healthy, and content is:

I've lived a good life, full of great memories and experiences. I'm happy and grateful because on January 11, 2011, so many years ago, I made the decision to change my life forever. I decided right then and there to stop wasting my life away. To gain back the vibrant, positive, energetic self I was as a youth. I knew the journey would be difficult. I knew it would take a lot of work on the inside. I had a lot of emotional scars and I was broken. I needed emotional healing. I found that through Transformation.com. I made lifetime friends that encouraged me and supported me along the way. I learned how to really LIVE again.

As a result of that decision to change, my life propelled into a whole new direction. I found my true purpose in life. I embraced it and my TRUE NORTH guided me.

Most importantly, I was there for my family. I enjoyed the years watching my kids grow up. I was able to play with them, go on outdoor adventures, and so much more. I was really "there" for them. One of my proudest moments was when my daughters told me how proud they were of me for getting in shape. What they didn't know was I got in shape because I had fixed what was broken on the inside. I got my life back and in turn, I got so much more. So much more...

Looking at the other side, envisioning my future life as unhealthy and unfulfilling, my most painful regrets would be:

From the time I was 21, I struggled with overeating and being overweight. It was so frustrating because I was thin and in shape in my younger years. I tried so many times to get healthy. Man, I tried so many times. I just couldn't sustain anything.

Years later I finally realize what was really wrong with me. I never dealt with the issues festering inside of me. I buried them. I harbored them. They ate at me like a cancer.

My biggest regret is not figuring this out sooner. I struggled to find happiness. I was constantly grumpy around my kids. I was not FULLY engaged with them. I wish I could have done more with them. To just simply get on the floor and play! Oh God, why did I not figure this out!

My kids have all grown up now. My oldest daughter got married a few years ago. She has always loved me, but I felt so embarrassed walking her down the aisle. If I had only...

If I had only done this...if I had only done that...

If ...

This is my mission statement which clarifies my lifetime intentions:

My lifetime intentions are to live to my full potential, be there for my family, face my fears and push through them, set high goals and attain them, reach others through my music, inspire others to achieve their dreams, keep an open mind and a grateful heart, and follow God's will for my life.

Living every moment, loving everyone we meet no matter what they give us in return. Life is not accidental. We make choices and every choice we make has a consequence. The accumulation of our choices over time define us in some way but there is always opportunity to course correct if we find our choices leading us astray. I'm so happy that you have found your way to making more consistent, positive, life changing choices. Good on you Jonathon. Keep making the correct choices with consistency.
