One of the keys for me to staying on task is not letting life (job, kids, housework) get in the way of my goals.  I was wrapped up in work yesterday and kept putting of my aerobic workout until it was too late.  I awoke at 5:30 this morning to get back on track. This week will be so bu

The Push Mower Workout

I can barely walk!  I mowed trails with a push mower today and wow--great workout.  We just bought 15 acres of woods with trails throughout the entire property and I couldn't wait to get out there and walk them.  There are a lot of hills and at the time it seemed like no big deal.&nbs...

Hello Lisa. Thank you for commenting on my week 2 photo. I appreciate it. Don't feel bad about the minor setbacks you are having. A lot of us have had those. As long as you keep pushing forward you will be fine. As far as I can tell you are doing a great job!! This is why I enjoy Bill's quote "look for progress, not perfection." I know you will have a great transformation. Keep up the great work!!

Did you already attend your class reunion? 20 years does a lot to our bodies but I am sure you looked amazing! Mine was a few years back, its so wierd seeing people you haven't seen in years. You have great goals and inspirations that I am sure you will achieve. This program is by far the best. Keep on going strong!

How's it goin', Lisa? You called it! Rolling Hills. It's a nice little park. My little one, Zack, always has a blast. Even without his hearing aids he just knows when they're starting up that wave pool! Full Speed! I can see you live for your kids....Awesome! I'll be here if you need anything. You've got the right motivation! Have a great week! -Doyle

I just ran across your site and am so glad you are here to change things about yourself. Remmeber that for you to do this properly you also need to love yourself deeply and work the insides that keep you from that. I have a feeling you are a very strong and kind person. So make that commitment no matter what you are taking this one all the way to the end When you hit the finish just know it is only the beginning of your new life that you want to take you to 100 years. Know how much you are worth accomplishing this and being a blessing to your family and all you cross paths with. May you have Gods strength as you give it your all during this time and forever. MARTY

Hi There - Just stopping by to encourage you and tell you to keep hanging in there and trying. It seems life can get so busy that making a real change is like pushing a rock up hill. But every step we take closer to the goal makes us just that much closer to our transformations......so don't give up! Best wishes to you, Mike

Thanks! If you have any weight loss tips--send them my way. My workouts are going great, but my eating is not. I feel like I am following everything we need to do but somehow my "cheat" day must have set me way back or something?

MikeofHB wrote at 08:10 PM on Jul 20, 2008

Thanks for the nice message. I have 13 year old twins (boy and a girl) too. Good luck with your start tomorrow...I think you are starting tomorrow too...anyway all the best. Mike.

I Am

My 20 year class reunion is in 4 weeks and I tried desperately to find an outfit that will hide the 40 lbs I have packed on since then. It is too easy to blame my weight problems on my new stressful job, having three children, genetics and aging. I am naturally a very happy and healthy person who loves life, my children and family. I have always told my children that one of my goals in life is to live to be 100 years old. At the rate I am going I will be lucky to make it to 70. For my height I should only weight between 125-130 lbs but instead I weigh in at almost 170 lbs. This may not be overly dramatic for some people but for myself it is a huge let down because I know my eating is driven out of a lifetime of bad habits and lack of motivation. I want to change just as much on the inside as the outside. I am a huge procratinator and it affects every part of my life...marriage, work and friendships. Many people may look at me and think I have it all together but I know better. Like Bill said, there is always another level to look forward to and I feel it is definately my time to start reaching. My husband and I joined the challenge a few years ago, lost a few pounds but never took the transformation challenge seriously. With the added inspiration from Marty Goldman I am ready again to accept the challenge and work hard to reach both my inner and outer goals for life.

Early Childhood Programs

To me, Transformation Means

Recognizing what one needs to change...setting goals to meet that change...and then working hard to reach those goals. Transformation has to be a mind set in order to be long lasting.

My Goals

I need to organize my life. I can set goals and achieve them, but not always the way I had planned. I want to have more control over how and when I reach these goals from the inside out. My physical goals are to lose excess pounds of fat-in the range of 40 pounds. I would also like to run a mile in under 9 min.--I currently run an 11 minute mile which is almost walking slow!

My Intentions

I understand the routine of lifting weights both upper body and lower body. It is the cardio I struggle with so I need to keep in mind that the intsensity is just as important if not more so than the endurance.

Who I'd Like to Inspire

My kids! I have twin boys who are nine years old and a daughter who will be eight. They all say in a loving way how chubby mommy is and how slow I am when we walk together. I want to play tag with them and run around the yard and let them be "wowed" by my physical ability. I overhear my daughter sometimes asking her brothers if she is fat like mommy. In my heart I know that if I don't start teaching them by example better exercise and eating habits they will learn my poor choices. I need to change not only for myself, but for my family as well.
