Lessons I've Learned

Having just recently finished the 18-week challenge, I've learned several things. First:  champions do the work and reach their goals. Second: Bill has provided us with the wisdom he's spent a lifetime accumulating.  Follow his program to a T and you will succeed.  How do I know?   Because I goofed-off.  Most of the time I ate clean.  I did the inner work. However, I refused to journal (I think commiti...

Do You Know the Shepherd?

September 25, 2008We've probably all heard the saying:  "It isn't what you know, but who you know that's important."   Usually this is said with some digruntlement because we, or somebody we know, feel we have been cheated in some way.  Last  night, I once again attempted to complete Bill's assignment #12B and began writing down the words I had used during the day.  And, once again, I did not complete the a...

It's Happening!

Friday, September 19, 2008It's happening.  My transformation ... is happening.  Not so much physically yet, but that will come.   What I'm referring to is the fact that I could finally bring myself to post a picture of me.  All these weeks, I had secrets I was afraid to reveal.  Many secrets.  Among them, my figure and my age are things I've been reluctant to share - and the years that show in my face. &nbs...

An Old Post Revisited

September 18, 2008Bill's latest lesson, #12, was a powerful reminder to me of something I have long believed yet often forget.  Words do have power and I have experienced the power of my own words, often negatively, too often to dismiss this lesson.  The power of words and the energy they create in us is not something to be scoffed at or taken lightly. Skeptical?  Then think of this:  one of my favorites lessons...

Hapster is Gone

Saturday, September 6, 2008 Today I grieve the loss of a precious friend who loved me unconditionally.  Just last Thursday, I posted a picture, mainly to share with another cat lover, Niamh, of my beautiful big cat, Hapster.  Friday, quite unexpectedly, Hapster died.  I'm still in shock and more than a little angry with myself.Hapster was not quite 9 years old.  He weighed 27 pounds and the vet had been telling ...

Visualizing and Realizing - A True Lesson

2008-08-26I am a champion.  It just doesn’t show yet.So far this week, I have started a new approach to my transformation, a new “old” approach I should say.  I’ve used it in the past with astounding results.Twenty-five years ago today, (when many of you were still little kids), I was a young wife and money was tight.  I was driving an old car that needed expensive repairs and I had to drive it anyway, takin...

August 21, 2008"If at first you don't succeed....find what works for you."  I've been extremely faithful to my transformation workouts and eating program for the last eight weeks.  When my friend who is a personal trainer looked at my "before" picture and my picture 7 weeks later and commented on "a little improvement", I knew it was time to amp things up.  The reason is she thought my &...

My Invisibility Cloak

August 12, 2008Yesterday, there was news that scientists are close to creating an invisibility cloak that will make military equipment invisible to radar by deflecting light and disbursing it away from an object.  I'm not a scientist, so my explanation here is sketchy at best.  But, I say, BIG DEAL!I've had an invisibility cloak for the last 5 years.  Since gaining 60 pounds, I've become virtually invisible to strangers. ...

Winner or Champion

August 10, 2008Yesterday, August 9th, was a turning point in my transformation and my life.  I learned a valuable lesson that I believe will influence me for all the years ahead.  I learned the difference between a winner and a champion. I was fortunate enough to have lunch with Sharen Martin and in the four incredible hours we spent talking and laughing, she taught me a valuable lesson - not in words so much as by who she is.  Sha...

August 6, 2008 Just a nightcap post before I wake up in the morning wondering what it was that I really wanted to say tonight.   That happens - more than I want to admit.  I'm working on the bod, but is there a cure for cellulite of the brain? No More Hairballs

August 6, 2008The hairballs are gone.  I have made promises to myself and to God.  The most significant milestone realization in the last 5 days away from this site is this:  I have always gotten in the way of my dreams.  I am my own worst enemy.  I pray for help then argue with God and blame Him when it seems nothing changes.  I've realized, with some personal drama, that for me to "Be the Change," I ...

Wisdom - too late for some?

July 30, 2008 I heard this today on the radio:     "The problem with life is you're halfway through before you realize it's do-it-yourself." Choose - Cowardice or Courage

July 30, 2008 Cowardice or Courage? It takes courage to change.  It takes courage to be honest.  And it takes courage to tell the truth. If we are to truly transform, to actually Be the Change, it will take tremendous courage.  We must learn to face the truth.  We must be willing to speak the truth.  And we must accept the truth when we hear it.  That truth starts with us on this transformation journey...
