Rollin' Along Into Week #4

Why is this challenge so much more fun than any of the other challenges I tried to do?   Easy - this time I'm actually DOING it and doing it beats trying any time!   The last two challenges were all about the sociability and the fun of being here on Transformation. In truth, I'm not sure that Bill's intention for this website is that it simply be fun.  I think his intention is actually what he says it is - to turn this co...

Still Going Strong

Week #2 was a great week for me and Week #3 is off to a good start.   For some reason, this Transformation challenge is different than my previous challenges.   I'm more focused and this time, I REALLY want to succeed in reaching my goals and I'm finally "doing the work."I haven't been on T.com as much lately because, honestly, I'm working out every day, doing the assignments, and spending a considerable amount of time wi...

Week One Success!!!!!

One full week of Transformation completed!  This week I did the WHOLE Transformation program and I feel great.   I've been "transforming" for over a year - but thought that I could just focus on the "inner" work and somehow, miraculously, my body and health would just come along for the ride.   I was wrong.  Simply stated:  laziness does not produce a physical transformation and sim...

Holy Toledo

I just finished a kettlebell workout and all I can say is "Holy Toledo!"  What a workout!  My legs are shaking.  My arms are shaking.  And I'm psyched!  Geez, I hope I can walk tomorrow!  Day 3 and going strong so far.   I'm wishing everyone much success and fun with this challenge - Jackie ...

On the Road Again...or NOT this Time

... That's how I feel as I begin yet another Transformation challenge.  I've made huge inner strides in the last year, but until the changes show on the outside and I do ALL of the work, I'm only kidding myself about Transformation.   If I don't do the work, I will always be on the "road of self sabotage and failure."   What I mean by ALL the work is doing what it takes physically to transform myself from being ...

HHC and The Best Christmas Yet Essay

2009 was a year of blessings that ended on a high note with the Healthy Holidays Challenge.  I declared my goals at the beginning of the challenge and, with the exception of only one goal, I achieved them all.  For years I have wanted to reach out to help others and always "ran out of time." Excuses have often dominated the good intentions in my life.   I’ve always had the desire to help, but did...

I've Done It Again

... caved into self-sabotage.   At the start of the HHC I set goals to get into the brown pants I bought 5 years ago, collect coats and other things needed by The Denver Rescue Mission, support the Food Bank of the Rockies, and deliver 12 chemo caps and scarves I knitted to the Rocky Mountain Cancer Center.  I've accomplished everything but working toward my goal of getting into the brown pants.  My eating has been g...

Just a Little WD-40

... is all I need now and the zipper on my "before" brown pants will shoot to the top!  It's amazing that I haven't lost but 5 pounds, yet the abyss running right up the middle of those pants that has kept both sides from coming together is actually disappearing!  Just a couple more pounds, or maybe an inch lost, or a healthy spray of WD-4O and those suckers will be zipped for the first time since I bought them 5 years ago!&nb...

What if....

I have always loved playing "what if?" I just forget to do it more often. For example: What if I felt so good about myself that I didn't hesitate for a moment to ask the Manager of the local Burlington Coat Factory if he'd be willing to give me a huge discount on coats to donate to the Denver Rescue Mission in exchange for some online publicity here at T.com for Burlington Coat Factory and possibly a local TV station plug for being so c...

Week #2 Results

Week 2 is done and I've stayed the course.   2.5 pounds are gone and I broke through a weight barrier that has been unbreakable for the past 3 years!   What I'm loving the most, though, is my clothes are looser, my knee isn't hurting too badly now, and I am ready to start my Zumba workouts!  Those are the physical results. On the service and giving side, my check to support the Denver Rescue Mission is ...

Who Am I?

If you've ever seen "Les Miserables," you know that it is the story of Jean Val Jean, a man who spends most of his life running from his past and hiding who he really is (a fugitive convicted for stealing a piece of bread) while being pursued by a man of law, Javier, who will not let him forget his past.  In one dramatic and powerful scene, Val Jean, in order to save an innocent man's life, makes the choice...

Boy, Do I Need to Transform

Sometimes, we have insights and realizations that aren't real fun.  The past five days of eating clean and doing my HHC seem to have opened the "inner me" to some insights.   The Denver Marathon video brought back lots of memories - good ones, as well as some interesting insights.   First, I, AGAIN, didn't honor my commitment to my Transformation goals and I weighed exactly the same as I did last year ...

I'm in Shape

... but I don't like the shape I'm in.     I'm so happy to have this Happy Holidays Challenge.  Sharen is a great mentor and motivator and Marty is the soul of my holidays challenge.  They are my rocks, my friends, my inspiration and today I am so very grateful for Sharen and Marty. Today my focus is on gratitude and appreciation.   ...

Marty Clause

I'm having a great time with this HHC.  I absolutely love Christmas and usually start playing Christmas carols around my birthday in August! So far I feel great.  I've eaten clean and done a modified exercise program while my injured knee heals.   Last night I was on Marty's Conference Call and the love that comes from that man in person and over the phone is a true gift to all of us.  I've never known anyone who jus...

An Incredible Transformer's Story

I met some incredible people in Denver - Rohan and Paul from Australia, Paul and Niamh from Ireland, Patrick and Debbie, Amandasleagle, Kat (celebr8him), Lisa (Imgettingthin) and so many others - too many to mention individually.   One person I did not meet, but hopefully will soon, is Jens.  He lives here in Colorado, yet I was to "stand-offish" to reach out of my comfort zone and introduce myself.  In fac...

A Mile HIgh

The Transformation Weekend in Denver was a great event.  So many people have commented about it that there's not much else I can add that hasn't already been said.   Everything Bill and his staff did was Deluxe and nothin' but the best.  Incredible food, outstanding service, inspiring guests and professional entertainment.  The hard work of so many people was obvious and, in my opinion, this is a sign of great respec...

I Think It's Going to Happen for Me

I live in a suburb of Denver.  I've been so excited about Transformation weekend for so long and in the last three weeks, it all nearly feel apart.  It's a long story, but my attendance at the Transformation event has been in question and it hasn't been looking very good for me being able to be there at all.  Now, after lots of prayrers and some intervention that was out of my control,  I think it is going to happen and I'll b...
