Your presence and the work you do to be at a higher level of consciousness can draw crowds!

I've been reading and re-reading David Hawkin's book Power Vs. Force: The Hidden Determinants of Human BehaviorIn this book, David Hawkins presents a "Map of Consciousness" and calibrates the energy fields that correlate with specific processes of consciousness-emotions, perceptions, or attitudes, worldviews and spiritual belifes.   The idea is that when we are acting from the lower levels of consciousness (200 and lower), we ...

Act before you think.....to change those limiting beliefs

Act before you think! I'm finding this is the key to changing the limiting beliefs.  Become aware of the limiting belief, decide what new belief will take it's place and start acting on it!  Act quickly or your mind will kill the idea before you know it.  The thoughts that try to kill the new idea often present themselves in the form of excuses.  Act on the new belief often enough and your mind will soon get the idea.  It...

Avoid labels and judgement!

Each soul creates the situation and the circumstance for its own highest purpose in each moment called now. Judge not, then the karmic path walked by another.  Envy not success, nor pity failure, for you know not what is success or failure in the soul's reckoning.  Call not a thing calamity, nor joyous event, until you decide, or witness, how it is used.  For is a death a calamity if it saves the lives of thousands?  And ...

Really emotional right now after watching Fireproof!

I've been wanting to see Fireproof ever since it was out in Theaters.  My sis-in-law and I were talking about it last night because it was on pay per view and of course our husbands had their normal macho remarks about it...oh it's a chick flick...I don't need that movie....I hear it's a real Christian movie...yada, yada, yadaI came home tonight after visiting with family, tucked in the kids and then we headed down to our family room for our...

Laundry room flooded yesterday...

long story short...my husband didn't assist me when I asked him nicely to look at the washing machine when it was a small problem.  We left and the washing machine turned into a BIG problem. We were gone 10 hours and the water ran, and ran and ran and we came home to a squishy mess in our finished basement/family room.  It wasn't pretty.  We spent hours with the shop vacs and moving things out of the way and doing more laundry...

Planning~~Saturday 4/11/09

I loved the planning idea that Bill and Shane talked about on last night's radio show.  This is definately something that I have let slip this Challenge round and should probably pick up again.  I haven't been able to find a happy balance with the computer time and I think this will help!  I realize that there will have to be some flexibility but if I use the following plan as a general guide I think everyone will be happier and th...

Flex those mental muscles!

This journey is all about flexing our muscles....our physical muscles AND our mental muscles!I just read someone's blog about how frustrated they've been today.  She was wondering why it is still such a struggle to get up out of bed, eat well, and work out when she's been at this for so long...after all this time it should just be a way of life.  My opinion is the way of life is recognizing these destructive thoughts and being able to c...

I've hung up my wings!

I've hung up my wings and it's soooooo....freeing!  I'm spending more time with my children, playing board games with them, taking them to the park, bike riding with them, reading, doing Bible devotionals together, etc.  I'm doing what's important with what little time that I have in the day!  I HIGHLY recommend it!  You will feel soooo alive and ENERGIZED!Are you the kind of person who thinks she's being good (self-sacrificin...

DILIGENCE...key to FAITH and overcoming fear!

Here's an excerpt from my previous blog...... We are like a farmer who gets his fields ready for the crops.  The farmer lets the soil rest, he tills the soil, he plants the seeds, he fertilizes and he irrigates....he readies his crops and does all that is within his power - the rest is up to God and in God's hands...God controls nature and what happens to those seeds and how much crop there will be at harvest time, it is out of the...

Don't fear...TRUST!

It boils down to trust and this is something that I learned in my first challenge. Trust God. Trust His plans he has for me. God has favor on me, he has wonderful plans in store for me no matter how I may view the present...sometimes the great plans don't reveal themselves until the long-term. In the short term they can appear as adversity but he does things for a reason. God doesn't even think like us so we can't even comprehend what his pl...

YAY! Vacation plans are falling into place!

I have been so focused the last week or so trying to nail down a place to stay when we go to Tennessee that I haven't had much time to peruse T.com land or blog.  I'm happy to say that I have found the place we're staying...YAY!  Everyone's needs have been met:  the dog, the dance competition, the kids having a pool, the view, a hot tub, a WORKOUT FACILITY for me :-), a place to sleep and a roof over our head.  I got a pretty ...

Smile-a-thon Challenge for Peaceful Awareness!

So today I am making a conscious effort to have a constant smile on my face as I go about my entire day.  It’s not a huge silly grin but a Mona Lisa smile….a half smile…a look of contentment, joy and peacefulness.  I am at one hour, thirty minutes and counting so far of doing this exercise and it is amazing, the awareness that it gives me as I do mundane tasks.  I find that it takes a little effort on my part to...

The power of visualizing before workouts!

Watch a world class down hill skier prior to a big race and you will see them close their eyes and ski the course in their mind.  On the absolute edge of their skis, they are going faster than anyone has dared to go.  Watch the Olympic divers.  They see themselves perform the most difficult maneuvers without a miss.  They enter the water below them without a splash and get a perfect score.  Gymnasts close their eyes and g...

Day 14 of Marathon Training~~~2 miles today!

The dog and I did 2 miles around the perimeter of the park while the kids played.  A little bit on the wimpy side today...I blame the dog   No really....I'm sore still from Sunday's run and it was hard to hold the proper form with sore muscles.  I did loosen up a little after the first 1k, though....

My visualization for today....I have the power!

Today I have been visualizing and praying for God to clothe me in his power.Ephesians 6:10: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Ephesians 1:18-20 I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us to believe. That power is like the working of his mighty stength, which he e...

Just did a 5k just now...5 laps around the park while the kids played.  40 mins 24 seconds....not impressive but at least I have a baseline now and something to improve on.  I feel really good and look forward to getting my miles in this week.  I hope the beautiful weather stays! Love ya! m'wah!Jan ...

Day 12 of Marathon Training ~~ Finally feeling like a runner!

Wow!  What a great run I just had! I did 2.6 miles and almost all of it was running!  I told my "coach" the other day that I just couldn't seem to run much more than .25 mile intervals and then I was forced to walk.  I put on the heart rate monitor the other day and told him what my heart rate was doing.  The walk intervals were necessary because my heart rate was getting so high.  I was running at an 8 min...

Day 11 of Marathon Training...When will this weather let up???

It was a beautiful sunny day today and I thought for sure I'd be able to get 4 miles in (3 laps around the neighborhood).  No such luck!  It was bitter cold out there!  When that wind gets going like it was it's just frigid!  I'm glad I had ear muffs on because my ears are really sensitive to cold and wind. So yeah...I did the usual 1.3 miles.  But, I've been fighting a cold virus thing or allergies for the last week...

Tough day ahead of me tomorrow....

My Dad called me today.  We are moving my Granmother out of her assisted living apartment tomorrow, down the hall to the nursing home area.  Her mental state is going downhill quickly and it has become necessary to do this for her safety.  It's going to be tough because she does not want this and will probably resist.   ...
