(07-02-09) It's Celiac!

Just got my lab result back for the gluten sensitivity stool test. The normal value for antigliadin antibody (iga) is <10 units. My result was 124 units - clearly positive for Celiac/gluten-intolerance. I knew instinctively that I had this disorder and I know it's been the missing part of my well...

My doc also said that Celiac causes so many problems. Patients have been on anti depressants and when they eat wheat free and gluten free, the anti depressants are a thing of the past. He also explained that so many illness symptoms that are unexplained are due to Celiac.

Hey James...Mind of I join you? My doc updated my wheat allergy to celiac. Tonight he asked me to fast for awhile water....only for a few days and then micro-filtered whey protein in water several times a day to heal my intestinal tract.. Got any suggestions? Last Summer I was in the emergency room in such intense pain. Tests were inconclusive. We've been trying to get a handle on it for a long time. Chronic sinus infections. Intestinal pain. bloating,,etc... Just writing to compare notes. Thanks,Lynn

I was reading your diagnosis and I'm right there with you. There are more of us then you would imagine. In fact 1 out of 100 people are Celiac and don't even know it!! If you ever need anything or need to talk I'll be around. God bless. =) Teri

Hey Jim! How goes it? I hope all is well! Been putting any miles on that bike? I have missed mine since I tore my calf muscle in November. Still just taking it easy on the stationary bike but hope to get back out in the sunshine in a few weeks. -Tom

I found your profile through your forum,, "what can I get away with". I believe thats where I slipped in my transformation progress. I kept rationalizing, eating horribly, and I always said " I worked out today! It'll be fine". I did get a little more than half way to my weightloss goal, but I'm starting fresh. I just want thank you for the forum and insight you have! Arlyn

Don't know you yet but glad to see the ringer spit you out the other side. Hope all stays on track with you so you'll get back in the game. This is our first "actual" BFL event we've entered. My brother turned me on way back when Bill stated getting this system out and I've used it as a fast "tune-up" when I have to travel for an extended time frame. Now that I have a little time to "sit-down" I and my wife are soooo "jacked" doing this. Hope your getting some grate burn on that "hot" bike you got. Anyway just saying "HI" Best Wishes Mike

I Am

I'm 54 yrs old. I've been on disability from my Computer Systems Analyst career since 2002. I've been doing BFL for years. Had great success in 2004/2005 dropping 125 lbs. However, I've been coping with a hormonal disorder (pituitary failure) since 1996... NEWSFLASH!!! (8-20-08) THE PITUITARY DISORDER HAS BEEN REVERSED!!! I can hardly believe it...but I no longer have a pituitary disorder!!! Yeah...I'm in tears as I update my profile with the news of this incredible miracle... As of Nov 25, I weigh 230 lbs - down 75 lbs since Jan 21 and expect to get under 200 lbs in Spring 2009..But frankly, the biggest weight - chronic illness - has finally been dropped and my new life begins today...

My Favorite Charity

Salvation Army

To me, Transformation Means

Not just putting disempowering behavior on hold for 12 weeks or so but actually changing your habits and behavior for the long-term... Here's a slideshow of my camping trip to Lake Jennings last December. Thought you might like it..."Lake Jennings Dec 08"

My Goals

Get well!

My Intentions

Do everything humanly possible to get back to normal weight of 170-180 lbs. After a long season of illness to follow the mission that God has planned for me in my new life...

Who I'd Like to Inspire

Everyone! But especially those who have faced adversity such as chronic illness.
