Week # 2 Week in Review

Hi everyone. One week down and going into week #3. This week was pretty great but there were a few challenges at work. It seems like we come to a place in our working life where we either have to step up or get out of the way. My boss has chosen to put more pressure on me expectation wise and I am having to decide if I want to get out of the way or press through. I am leaning towards press through as getting out of the way just doesn't seem right...

Day # 7 & 8

This weekend has been pretty decent. I decided saturday morning that I was going to sand and restain / varnish the kitchen table. Well that is great! However, I didnt realize it will take 3 days to have it dry. So, we are eating at the card table for the next few days. T-minus 5 weeks until the baby is due. Pretty exciting and scary at the same time. Not scary because we arent ready but because things have gone so fast. It is sobering to think ab...

Day #3 of 80

Day in ReviewHi everyone! Today was a great day! It seems like everyone in the office is pretty sick this week but that is alright because I am not. I really am believing alot of everything has so much to do with how we eat and treat ourself. I had a pretty explosive ab session. I am amazed because when I finished my week 18 challenge in September, I really thought that I was in awesome shape. Since picking this up, I realize how absolutely out o...

Day #2 of 80

Thoughts for the day - Today was a great day. It really was a step back to basics at work. Today was a day for self audit and the more and more that I found that everything is on track, the better I felt about taking time off for baby. It sure was an awesome day full of rest. Rest is such an incredible thing when there is peace in it. Today I found out that one of my coworkers and possibly two are leaving their position so there is alot of unrest...

The art of seeing things twice

Do you ever look at something that you have seen hundreds of times  before and take a deep breath simply because it is so lovely? Today  has been like that for me. The English language is such a terible  language for fluid expression because words are simply words. I can  understand why there are people who stick to shakespere or the king  james version of the bible. If you were to say that someone is pretty,  that i...

What do I run to?

I had the pleasure of talking with a friend last night for an hour and a half. Lately, this has been completely unheard of primarily because I usually am around the kids all evening but Kim was awesome and sent me away so my friend and I had an amazing conversation. So much information... We talked about everything from A-Z but more than anything there was quite a bit of breakthrough. In challenge #1 I made a tremendous amount of change physicall...

Anthony Kim's (Pro Level Golfer) Workout

Many have predicted that Anthony Kim has the talent to become the "next Tiger." For now, he just trains like him. Kim, 24, is part of the next wave of young players who grew up watching Woods and who've borrowed some of his strategies. The young phenom also utilizes the training methods used by Woods, who has become a mentor to Kim. The following four moves demonstrate how the up-and-coming PGA star keeps his core muscles strong to hel...

AB Recovery Plan - Mens fitness article - Three workouts for YOU

Getting ripped isn't that complicated. But leave it to society to cash in on making it seem so complex and unrealistic that you consider giving up on the dream entirely. First, there are the diet books that cut your meals down to just lettuce and water, and then there are the fitness magazines (note: not this one) that promise results with the same three ab exercises (two of which are usually just variations on the same ol' crunch)—if done ...

Awesome planking article - Men's Fitness

It's hard to believe the plank could provide such a great workout—until you try it. Keith Scott, A.T.C., C.S.C.S., a strength coach in Medford, N.J., recommends conquering the plank before attempting any heavy weight exercise. Get into pushup position on the floor. Now bend your elbows 90 degrees and rest your weight on your forearms. Your elbows should be directly beneath your shoulders, and your body should form a straight line from y...

Who says I cant do it?

Hi everyone! So, this last weekend was the T.com conference and it was a blast. I am really very excited coming back from it especially since it gave me a chance to really develop some pretty amazing relationships that I either had known the people before or had never met anyone. I also realized that I really am a pretty introverted person.   Today I sat down and decided that I am going to press harder, stronger, faster and longer than I hav...

Week # 2 - Team AWESOME!!! Supplemental video - The origin of modern day beauty

Hi everyone! So, I have debated for awhile about where to put this ad but I really believe that this fits in this week because we are still figuring out how our physical workouts are going to affect our future look. This was a very very good video that Dove soap did a few years prior regarding understanding the true beauty of a person. This video was aimed at younger girls who compare themselves to models. I think you will find that this is a pre...

And for the moment we have all been waiting for...

So, I have to say that I was completely surprised to see these next to each other. I have had these done for the last few weeks but I did not get a chance to bring them from my camera to my computer. So, today I took all of the pictures and put them right next to each other and it is like seeing a different person!!!  April 28th I started out my challenge at 237 lbs, 28% body fat and a VERY unhappy guy. I had been struggling with depres...

10 ways to de-stress this weekend : An article by ME!

It is Friday and that means we are going into an incredible weekend full of family, fun, and hopefully our share of relaxation. I found that many of us (including me at one point) did not understand how to relax. While it seems like relaxation is a given, many times our mind stresses about the things of the week. For some, a long vacation is much more stressful than a short nap in the hammock. I have done some research and here are some suggested...
