First Class

Oh my gosh - This is going to be a tough class.   I really like this instructor.  He is serious about having us trained and at the top of our game when we take our test and start as trainers.  He is a Master Trainer with NFPT so he teaches all the classes.  I know one of the classes I am interested in is Sports Nutrition.

Some of you may know that I was interested in one time in becoming a Dietitian.  I chose not to because I am not a big fan of the whole training toward the food pyramid.  I am amazed that people with Diabetes are given program that are still high in carbs when they should be contorlling their sugars.

I will have weekly hands on training in the gym and doing a fitness evalutation as well as being evaluated.  We are all teamed up with a classmate.  My class mate teammate is Anki.  Anki has been a Golf pro for about 10 years.

I will have two projects to turn in - One is mandatory.  Everyone in class has to do a paper on Kettle Bells.  Our team choose the topic of Latest trends in Fitness.  My instructor certifies people in Kettle Bell training.  Honestly I know very little about Kettle Bells - I do recall some articles about it and Pavel Tsatsouline many years ago in Muscle Media.

Kathy, a guy at my gym works out with kettle bells that he brings to every workout! He really loves it. He'll rave about them to anyone and give pointers and tips on working out with them. Good luck!

Its great to hear how you are challenging yourself in other ways. I just passed my real estate brokers exam. I have had a real estate licence since the mid 80s and now at 52 I get the big one. Go for it, have fun and good luck.

Good for you Kathy and you are going to make a great trainer and with the knowledge you already have, this should be a piece of cake. Study hard and learn a lot, Hugs, Troy
