Strengthening My Prayer Life

Isn't it great when God hits you with an amazingly simple yet awesome idea?  Tonight I began my strength training workout as I normally do.  I pulled out my plan, prepared my weights, and got to work.  It's a fairly quiet time when I workout in the evening.  The kids are in

When You Just Can't Seem To Do It

This post comes from an email conversation I had this morning.  I felt it was something others could benefit from too, maybe.  You know what really has helped me this time around? (I've never finished a challenge before - heck never even made it half way!) I feel like my h

Hi Sara...I know this summer has been hectic for you and I'm sure school is getting ready to start. I miss your sense of humor as well as your inspiration and insights. Hope you have a great week.

I just wanted to say Hello! GO HOMESCHOOLERS! I homeschooled my now 10th grade son from 1st grade through half of 7th grade and another son for kindergarten. It has been my experience that homeschoolers are a very unique group of can-do individuals. I also know from experience how easy it is to focus completely on your children, especially when you are a mom and homeschooling. While so very rewarding it can also be very difficult. Homeschooling requires a very special combination of skills: patience, perseverence, independence, courage, time management, a sense of humor, brains, dedication, love, faith, focus, ... If you can homeschool-- you can do anything! You all are super heroic! The challenge for me would have been to set aside the quiet time needed to focus on the Transformation plans for the day for myself and to put me on the list with the kids. It seems like the Transformation process is a great opportunity to teach nutrition (science), meal planning(economics), cooking recipes (measurements/math), fitness (science), and physical education with the kids. It would have be fun for me to incorporate all of these things into their curriculum and activities. Have fun! You all are awesome!!

Sara - I wanted to say congratulations on hitting that milestone today...the 200 mark.  You must be so incredibly proud of yourself.  You are such an inspiration already.  I've been down lately (duh LOL) but today I got up at 6am and hit the gym for a few hours and felt SOOOO good.  So I know what I need to do and I prayed to God to please help me remember that good feeling to keep me going.  You really inspired me...so thank you and keep up the awesome work.  Like Dude said...NEVER QUIT!  ((( 200 hugs!)))))  ~ Bella

Hi Sara- Hey, I went to my Beth Moore study today on "Living Beyond Yourself." She talked about starting your day with going to God with first, you confessions, and then your concerns.  I think that I will encorporate this into my workouts. First half I will do my confessions (Lordie, this might take my whole workout!,) and then my concerns to finish it out.  I just loved your blog, again, it's so refreshing to know someone out there who thinks along the same lines I do. Just wanted to share~Amy

I Am

I am a wife and homeschooling mom to 4 kiddos - living in the midwest. My family and I are on the road to a healthier lifestyle and we're rediscovering some wonderful things about an active life. We're finally living intentionally and not just letting life happen to us. What a blessing God has given us - to enjoy a life enriched by health.

My Favorite Charity

Christian Appalachian Project www.christianapp.org

To me, Transformation Means

Transformation - a change from one thing to another. Making many small changes to create one big change. For me, it's coming out of the dark that I cling to and trusting the 'rock' that clings to me. It's leaving behind the sadness of two lost children and learning to be the best mom to the 4 children who are here with me. It's leaving behind the destructive choices of the past and making intentional, positive, decisive choices that will be an investment.

My Goals

Current goal is to complete my BFL challenge June 2 - August 24. To lose 40 lbs of fat and gain muscle. Starting weight: 216 lbs.

My Intentions

Are to be a healthy happy and balanced person. To improve my health and grow closer to God, my Father, learning to trust in Him (not food) in every situation. To be a better role model and loving parent to my children. To be a better teacher to them. To be a positive helpmate and excellent wife to my husband.

Who I'd Like to Inspire

my children, my sisters and my mother
