Sometimes you just have to have some fun.....

So this morning I had another physical therapy appointment for my shoulder.  It has been hurting for quite awhile actually.  I used to work for an airline and injured it while unloading an airplane about 6 years ago.  The manager of the station was kind of a putz and insisted I contin...

I Am

I consider myself just an average guy looking for a way to change the way things have been for the last 20 - 25 years. Up until last October I was always stressed about my job and would choose to put my job above my family. After getting laid off I have learned that I need to relax more and enjoy the little things. This past year has helped me get closer to my son who is getting married in July and play more golf with him. I am also closer to my daughter and will enjoy watching her play college soccer and playing Guitar Hero (which I stink at). My 25th wedding anniversary is Feb of 2010 so I have some goals that I am looking forward to achieving prior to that date.

My Favorite Charity

Church youth groups

To me, Transformation Means

The ability to keep up with all my friends and families activities. I don't want to be the person that people have to consider before deciding on an activity to do. Being able to live a long and healthy life to enjoy grandkids and more.

My Goals

I don't really have a weight goal in mind. I know that some people will say that you need to have a goal in mind when you start or else you will not know if you are succeeding. I guess the reason is that the last time I liked my body was when I was 18 and weighed 165 lbs at graduation. Now that I am 43 and have been overweight for over 20 years, I need to start losing and find a comfortable weight that I can maintain.

So I guess that my goal is to lose a consistent 2 lbs a week while increasing my energy, losing inches and becoming more comfortable in my own body. I would also like to be able to get off the oral medications that I am taking for Type II Diabetes.

My Intentions

I have already taken steps to make working out with free weights more accessible. One thing that I am really looking forward to is working out with my daughter as she gets ready for her first college soccer season. With that in mind, I am intending to work out with free weights at least 3 times a week and add in upper body as my shoulder rehab allows. Cardio workouts will include walking to start and slowly adding some mountain biking, jogging and climbing the incline.

Who I'd Like to Inspire

My thought is that you never know who is watching you at any given time. With that in mind, I would like to inspire anyone who finds something that I do an inspiration. Hopefully that will include my family and friends that have known my struggles over the last 20 years.
