Hi Jennie.. I have not really found anyone on this site who actually lives locally. I have had some that have sent messages that have lived in WNY at some other point in their lives. Anyhow, I am glad to meet you too. I am looking for a walking partner..mall walking to be exact. I like to hit the Galleria or the McKinley mall. I work during the day so I walk in the evening. My new goal is to walk 12,000 steps per day. If you are free some evenings and are interested let me know. I know it is hard with children. My youngest is 17 so some days he needs me more and some days he needs me less. LOL. It would be great to have someone to talk to...makes the time go by quicker.

I Am

I am Jennie. I am 41, married and have four great kids. My oldest and only boy is 15. The girls are 13, 10 and 10. Currently all the kids are homeschooled by me. This is my 10th year of educating the kids at home.

My Favorite Charity

To me, Transformation Means

I woke up thinking about this questions this morning. To me transformation is a complete metamorphosis. I am reminded of the song Miley Cyrus sings in the Hannah Montana movie. Like a caterpillar is kind of stuck and can't move very far when I am starting out I feel limited and unable to move far, but I can dream. When the transformation takes place, I become a beautiful butterfly who can go anywhere.

My Goals

I started this journey before I knew anything about the Transformation web site. I was trying on clothes this past June, and there in the dressing room I found my motivation. I was mad. I was mad that I let things go this far. I was mad that I couldn't wear clothes that I deemed cute or sexy. I was mad that I had to pay more money for the clothes I could fit into because they were "womens" size clothes. So, my goal started out just to eat better. Then within two weeks I was starting to walk the neighborhood. Now I workout 5 days a week with Leslie Sansone DVDs. I walk about 15 miles a week. My goal is to keep this up because I feel great when I do.

Ultimately, I would like to lost 70# total. So, far I have lost almost 30#. I would like to get down to a size 14/16 again, so that I can buy the clothes that I want to buy and not the ones I have to buy. I want to continue to exercise daily because I feel great when I do, and I want to maintain my healthy eating but not obsess over it because I tend to be too much of a perfectionist when I do.

My Intentions

I intend to make all the changes into a lifestyle, so that never again will I have to struggle to lose unwanted weight. I know now that I must exercise daily and eat healthy daily to lose and maintain the right weight.

Who I'd Like to Inspire

Well, I would like to inspire my kids. Two of them are teenagers now. They are active and slim. I try to tell them that I was too once upon a time. I want them to see that no matter how old they are they need to have brisk exercise/strength training and good eating habits. Since they are teens they do often think that they know better than I do.

I hope, too, that I can inspire my friends. I am just like they are. I don't always want to get up out of bed. I don't always want to eat the right things. I don't always want to workout and sweat. However, I do it because I know it is the right thing to do. It is not easy some days, but I have seen the difference between sitting around doing nothing and being physically fit. I will chose to be fit over the way I was.
