Hey! I just wanted to answer your question from the thread, but I didn't know if you would go back and read it so I thought I would post it on here.. :) I do not eat refined processed sugars and artificial sweeteners, but I do allow myself to have natural sweeteners. Bill used brown rice syrup in these amazing bars which is a great natural sweetener!! Brown rice syrup metabolizes slowly because it is a natural sugar. But diabetics and low-carb dieters should use it with caution. Otherwise, it is fine for anyone who wants a whole-food natural sweetener. I allow myself the natural sweeteners such as brown rice syrup, honey, dates, fruit, barley malt, molasses, etc. because they don't have the same effect on the brain when it comes to a sugar addiction. I can eat just a small amount and I am satisfied, but when it comes to processed refined sugar like that in cakes, cookies, ice cream, etc. It triggers my addiction and I can not stop myself. That is why I had to cut it out all together!! Hope this helps!!!

Hi Wade, I really enjoy reading the Elder's Meditation you post. They are very thought provoking and I certainly need to think. One of the things I brought back from Dallas is how important "perspective" is and the Elders you quote absolutely have a different perspective on life than what is seen in modern society. It's truly refreshing and transforming. Thanks - David

I Am

Being almost 44 now life takes on new meaning. Things that I took for granted when I was in my twenties are coming back to haunt me today.

Being of sound body, mind, and spirit means everything to me now.

I am a 6 foot tall and over 260 pounds. I am a type 2 Diebetic and have been for the last 10 years.

Excercise has been a key for me to help maintain my blood sugar levels but it is not good enough.

I love food and trying to eat the proper food all the time has been a huge battle for me.

Life to me is precious and I do want to make the changes that are needed to life a full life.

Life is a journey and it is far from over. I have a great wife she is my best friend and I am committed to her forever.

My Favorite Charity

Dàrcy`s no kill pet shelter, Ovarian Cancer research, Humane Society, Winnipeg Homeless shelters, Manitoba Transit Herritage Association, and soon Make a Wish Foundation.

To me, Transformation Means

Transformation means to me to be the best that my mind knows that I can be.

To live a life full of health and quality.

Proving to myself that I can do this and make the difference in my life and spirit.

My Goals

My goal is to achieve my ideal weight of 190 lbs.

Full control of my blood sugar levels that would allow me to discontinue most if not all of my medication.

Climb a Mountain with Bill Phillips.

My Intentions

I would like to being a quality of life that I know I can have something that I took for granted when I was in my 20's.

Who I'd Like to Inspire

I would like to inpire people that think its to late to make changes to your life regardless of age.

A call out to all people that are on the verge of walking down the dark path of unfit living and putting on the fat.
