Just a fun little trip down memory lane!I will never forget the day I took my first ever before picture!!It was 10years ago that I had just flipped through a magazine and read about a contest. I think a few hours later, I went and bought Body-for- Life, a bunch of pens, and a little spiral. After a few big life events, I went back to what I knew worked! Here is my journey: 10 years laterI have so much gratitude for a prog...
Last year, I made a blog here and there about my training for the 2008 Denver Marathon. I really enjoyed going back and reading my running thoughts and what those training accomplishments felt like. I decided that this year, I would keep my training in one spot. So, I am committed to this blog until I fly out to Denver! =) My 2009 Denver Training Schedule My trai...
Transformation is so beautiful, isn't it?After a personal death 7 years back, and many years of fighting myself, I just kind of threw my hands up and surrendered. Surrendered what? Everything.Everything?........ Everything! It was slow at first, but essentially it became easier as time passed. For me, Everything is simply a word for all the things that surround fears. I had a learning road ahead of me and I was finally receptive.Fear is the compli...
I see a Whale, I see a Whale!!!It was early in the morning, and we left the resort to go whale watching; just a few days before, my Kona entrance was greeted by a whale, so my little ticker was racing. As Bill mentioned on TT Radio, I was surely a professional whale spotter within moments of checking in. On our way, my eyes were fixated on everything!! We passed snowcapped mountains, the decorated lava ro...
After reading a post about being part of the same web and few connection blogs, my little thinker began to wander. How connected are we? We are all part of the human realm, whether you are a believer or not, but just how connected are we?Our behavior duplicates events from person to person..........physically, mentally, and spiritually. I sat and thought of one of the most soul enriching moments that I carry with me ...
My perfect imperfections lead me to October 19, 2008; A day of likeminded spirits. Some of those runners incredibly skilled, some of them incredibly determined, and some of them incredibly shocked they put themselves there. I will take all three, however let’s really focus on the skilled part, it makes me look good along with my spandex leggings and POLAR HRT watch. What the hell are runner socks anyways? It’s ...
COME TO THINK OF IT, I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A RUNNERI love running, I really really LOVE running. Right before a big run, I lace up my Mizunos, get my iPod ready, baseball cap positioned, sunglasses in check, and I take one big cleansing breath and I head off into the sunset. During my runs, I find a million things to think about. If I were to document it all, you would probably think I was goofy or ADHD (I will take eit...
Tonight was a beautiful 3 smiles run in the Texas heat, however I think we had a cold front. It was only 93 degrees when I ran. ----> Joining me this evening was the lovely Sophie on her mean purple bike.I tell ya, these runs are getting easier folks! When you can say, “Oh tonight is my small 3 smiles run…”I will report that it was a smooth flight until about the 2.5 smiles mark. Little Sophie sl...
"OH Hercules, Hercules, Hercules""OH I AM a runner, I AM a runner, I AM a runner!!!"Personal best tonight........on the treadmill.I started running, and I was smiling as I ran, I felt GOOD! I felt really GOOD! I knew that I was testing my will tonight. I got into the third mile and said, "Let's Go!" I cranked up the fast music, and got my run on tonight!!! Faster, Faster, and Faste...
Originally I wanted to run this morning, however my little angel puff started school today. Today’s goal = 2 smiles I will no longer call them miles! To love them, I've renamed them....... What a really, really good run! I took off around 6PM today and headed for 2, but ended up with a nice 3 smiles run. It is amazing how tiny 3 feels after doing 6. I did look at new shoes today beca...
I head out the door at 8:30AM. My goal is 6 miles. I carried a little bottle of water and walked about a half mile to get nice and warm. As soon as I hit the intersection of my neighborhood, the gun went off and there I go…………….My first mile was up a very teeny tiny mile long hill that gradually felt my Mt. Kilimanjaro. My breathing was hard and I couldn’t seem to find my pace....
30 mins into a beautiful morning run, I come to a halt and arrive at the channel where the Ginormous Barges and Forrest Gump shrimpin' boats file off into their neverending ocean ride.I look to my right and find a jetty marathon. The first thing that comes to mind, "Go Get 'Em Sparky!"I prepare for an Olympic style dismount and charge off into the gulf.Rock hopscotch is quite challenging and entertaining. I start hearing the c...
At 7:00AM, the note on the table read:"Hey Mary Ellen, Greg didn't wake me at all last night to go the bathroom. He must have slept really hard. I will see you later. Justin" Mom walked into Greg's room, and whisked open the curtains to let the sun shine in. She said, " Mijo, you want pancakes? you want eggs? What do you want? "As she whisked the other curtain, she laughingly said, &qu...
I have always wanted to go to partake in the Worlds Largest Tomato Fight..............9Mos in a small paragraph:When I was pregnant with Sophie and heading to my first OB/GYN appointment. I was a miserable morning sickness 12wks pregnant. I walked in to meet my Dr..............my friends, meet, Dr. Casanova. Yes, that is his name.He was drinking a myoplex while asking me the pertinent questions. I say, "Hey, I did that cont...
