Assignment #5 - The Power of Positive Pressure
I completed my first official challenge from July 21, 2008- November 23, 2008. I was completely focused and motivated by the timelines and deadlines. To specify a goal by a certain date and visualize that for 18 weeks is so powerful...it is fuel for the challenge. Throw in the Tennessee Champions weekend...training for the Detroit half marathon too...and there are more incentives and rewards. I lost more than I had expected and gained Level II status with a shiny silver medal on the site...what a great honor...to start something and finish it with a sweet reward. Of course my true reward was finding a method of eating that worked for me...something I could live with.
While I didn't sign up for an "official" challenge here from November til the end of May 2009 I continued the lifestyle...stayed here loosely while I also worked with a group of people on Facebook and eventually met a few folks that I had become friends with here during my 1st challenge at Tcom in Florida March 09 ...talk about a reward and incentive to stay the course...we all wanted to look and feel our best upon meeting. Incentives and timelines just make life so much more focused and rewarding..it makes life a fun game.
I really love to have specific dates as goals for things which is why I think I enjoy this program so well and signed up for this challenge June 1, 2009 with an end date of October 4, 2009. So many rewards are tied into this...helping other folks with their challenges, a Body for Life Cruise (my last week of the 18 weeks challenge...may have to end it at 17 weeks)...and the Transformation Conference and Denver Half Marathon...2 super incentives to stay clean and keep the momentum that this site generates in me. I think I have pretty much summed up the rewards of completing another challenge...the penalty for not??? Hmmm..
I honestly cannot imagine not seeing this through...for me not to would be devastating...spiritually, physically and mentally. It is so much more than losing weight...it's giving to this community and sharing in others successes and also learning more about who you really are inside...the cleaner... purer.. truer you that gets lost along the way in years of living. What a blessing we have here at this site.
What's your timeline and deadline for achieving the results you are shooting for here at Transformation? What is your reward and what is your penalty?
Susan
