Slow and Steady may not win the race, but I finished it!

I am happy to report that I DID run (well jog/walk) my first 5k this weekend.  It seems that every excuse I made not to run it happened....

Long Week!

It's been a LONG week without my home gym.  BUT it's ALMOST done!  The floor is done, the baseboards are up, it's just the finishing touches that need to be done.  I'm soooo excited!  We put the squat rack and bench in the room, tomorrow we will finish putting the weights

5k Natalie! nice one.... go on out there and TRY.... if you have to walk some of it, there's no shame in that.... as Bill has said many times on his radio show "we win just by showing up!"...

Those duck walks ( carpeting) can be pretty intense in themself. So you did do a good work out yestarday. Pat yourself on the back. Well I see you in April down in Columbus? Be nice to meet some Ohion's. Sherri

Hi Natalie: I’m in Clarissa’s group with you. Sounds like you had kind of a bummer first part of the week. Hope the Flood is working itself out. When stuff like that happens, I always think of Dr. Evil from Austin Powers “Can somebody through me a Fricken Bone!” LOL. Try to get those workouts in - they are a great stress reliever. Love the DMB tunes - They are my favorite group hands down. Have a great rest of the week. Rich

Thanks, Natalie! We will help each other keep peaceful thoughts then. That's all we can do is love them. And yes it is hard when we would love to fix them right up! That is not for us though-it's for bigger hands than ours! Let me know if you need a friend to spout off to! xoxo Shelly :)

Hi Natalie, my name is Debby and I'm with you in Clarissa's group. I saw your post this morning and wanted to swing by to introduce myself. I was happy to see that you are going to try to fit in another 20 minute run just to keep up with the cardio. That's the best way to move forward, one good action at a time. From experience (not being a runner!) I know you'll do just great in the 5k in 2 1/2 weeks and feel you will surprise yourself. The funnest thing I did in my first run was shout encouragement (lookin' good! - lookin' great ladies!) at people who passed me - LOL!!! Especially the old ladies and the little kids. It made the event really fun!!! Don't worry about the old habits knocking on your door - the fact that you recognize them for what they are - lies - is outstanding proof of your progress. So proud of you!!! Good luck in your 5k...... Love, Deb

Hey Natalie, I just read your post about an accountability partner and I was wondering if you had one yet. If you don't have one and you are serious about keeping accountable I would be more than happy to be partners! We have a lot in common (Married, no kids, spoiled dog, not a lot of friends in home town besides family, yadda yadda yadda) So I thought we would make great accountability partners. Let me know. If you already have one, that is completely OK! I don't mind. I do want somebody that is serious though! So keep that in mind :) BTW.. I'm going to be in Dallas too!!! Hope to see you there!
